They started making more money and eating better. Things were never better for the Buckets. Meanwhile, Willy Wonka was in therapy, realizing that Charlie had made him feel terrible, and since he always made the candy he felt like making, him feeling terrible made the candy terrible.

Willy gets his shoes shined by Charlie, his face covered by the newspaper. He pretends to be a stranger who's heard of the famous chocolatier but can't remember his name. He pretends that the paper is telling him that Willy Wonka's new candies aren't selling very well, "but maybe he's a rotten egg who deserves it." Charlie replies "Yep." Willy then asks Charlie if he ever met the chocolatier. Charlie says "I did. I thought he was great at first, but then he didn't turn out so nice.

He also has a funny haircut." Willy then puts down the newspaper and reveals himself to Charlie, saying "I do not!" Charlies asks why he is here. Willy said that he didn't feel well and asked Charlie what made him feel better when he felt bad. Charlie said "My family." Willy said "Ew." Charlie said "What do you have against my family?" Willy explained that his issue wasn't with Charlie's family, but with family in general.

He doesn't like that parents tell their kids what to do. Charlie says "Usually they're trying to protect you because they love you. If you don't believe me, you should ask." Willy doesn't want to talk to his father alone. Charlie offers to come along. Willy lets Charlie come along.

They find Willy's dad's dental office in a snowy place. When they visit, Willy's dad asks if they have an appointment. Charlie replies "No, but he's overdue." When Willy's dad examines him he notices that the patient's teeth are as bad as his son's teeth used to be, and then he realizes that the patient is Willy. Willy and his dad make amends.

When Charlie got Willy and his dad to reunite, Willy realized that family might be a good thing after all. Willy decides to offer his chocolate factory to Charlie again. Charlie only agrees to come if his family can come too. Willy, who has now changed his opinion of family, agrees.

Willy and Charlie come up with new flavors of candy together when Charlie moves into the factory. This leads Mrs. Bucket to say "No business at the dinner table." Willy and Charlie oblige.

At the end of the movie, we see the Buckets' house inside the factory. This way, they can all live in their house. But Willy and Charlie will be at work as soon as they leave the house. Also this way, there is finally plenty of food for the Bucket family.

The last thing we hear before the credits is "In the end, Charlie Bucket won a chocolate factory, but Willy Wonka won something even greater: a family, and one thing was absolutely certain: life had never been sweeter." The last thing we see before the credits is the person who is saying that line and did all the narration for the movie. We see that it's an Oompa Loompa. So, apparently this whole story was told by an Oompa Loompa, even though the credits say that the narrator and the Oompa Loompa were portrayed by different actors.
