This film was released in 1933. They didn't play the leading roles; those were for Dolores del Rio and Gene Raymond. The music was written by Vincent Youmans and the lyrics by Gus Kahn. The story is about an American orchestra that travels to Brazil. Fred Astaire played the assistant band leader, and Ginger Rogers played a vocalist.

Answer: The Gay Divorcee

This screwball comedy from 1934 was the first to be directed by Mark Sandrich. Ginger Rogers played Mimi Glossop, a woman who hasn't seen her husband for several years and wants to make the divorce official. The music was written by Max Steiner.
