Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 1998, Aidan Quinn, Sandra Bullock, and Nicole Kidman starred in a movie together. What was the named of the movie?

Answer: Practical Magic

This was a magical story based on the Alice Hoffman novel of the same name. When Gillian's (Nicole Kidman) boyfriend became abusive her sister Sally (Sandra Bullock) came to the rescue, and they ended up killing him. When they tried to bring him back to life, his spirit threatened them and their family, so they used magic to banish him forever. "Practical Magic" also starred Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, and Goran Visnjic.
2. Cary Elwes, Robin Wright Penn, Billy Crystal, and Mandy Patinkin starred in which movie?

Answer: The Princess Bride

Buttercup was convinced that her true love, Wesley, had died so she agreed to marry Prince Humperdink. Wesley, however, was still alive, and came to prevent Buttercup from marrying Humperdink. Filled with kidnapping, impending marriage, giants, pirates and true love, "The Princess Bride" had a little bit of everything. My favorite, and probably the most memorable quote of the movie, was by Mandy Patinkin's Inigo Montoya: "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
3. Which movie featured Paul Walker, Joshua Jackson and Leslie Bibb?

Answer: The Skulls

Joshua Jackson led the cast as Luke McNamara in this action thriller about a secret society called "The Skulls". The elite society promised wealth and power, but at what cost? Luke soon found out that his and his friends' lives were in danger. Leslie Bibb and Joshua Jackson both were stars of WB shows; Bibb played Brooke on the short lived "Popular" and Jackson was Pacey on the very popular "Dawson's Creek".
4. Were Maria Bello, Piper Perabo, and John Goodman in the film "Coyote Ugly"?

Answer: Yes

"Coyote Ugly" was about a young and innocent girl moving to New York City and aspiring to be a songwriter. The big city threw her a few harsh punches and she was forced to work at a flashy bar run by only women. The movie also starred Tyra Banks, Adam Garcia, and Bridget Moynahan.
5. Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Rob Lowe, and Tia Carrere starred in which movie based on a "Saturday Night Live" sketch?

Answer: Wayne's World

Wayne and best bud Garth, played by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, received an offer to take their small public-access show to a wider level, in this funny 1992 movie. The movie's tagline was "You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll hurl." All four movies were inspired by "Saturday Night Live" sketches.
6. The 2002 movie that Mandy Moore and Shane West starred in together was "One Fine Day".

Answer: False

Mandy Moore and Shane West starred in "A Walk to Remember", a love story between two very unlikely people. "One Fine Day" featured Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney.
7. Orlando Bloom, Eric Bana, and Brad Pitt gave audiences a whole lot to drool over in which 2004 epic movie?

Answer: Troy

"Troy" was based on the epic "The Iliad" by Homer. The movie told the great story of Helen of Sparta (later and more commonly known as Helen of Troy) and how the Trojan War began, wooden horse and all.
8. Which movie starred Kate Hudson, Jason Lee, Patrick Fugit, and Billy Crudup?

Answer: Almost Famous

Patrick Fugit played a fifteen year old boy who was given the chance to write an article for "Rolling Stone Magazine" about an up-and-coming rock group. He got the goods on the band when he tagged along on their tour. My favorite part in the movie was when they were all on the bus singing Elton John's "Tiny Dancer".
9. Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Chris Rock, Jason Mewes, Alan Rickman and Salma Hayek starred in which 'angelic' Kevin Smith film?

Answer: Dogma

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon played two outcast angels who found a way to get back in heaven, but encountered obstacles when the last descendant of Christ, Bethany, played by Linda Fiorentino was called upon to stop them.
10. Over 10 of Stephen King's stories have been made into movies.

Answer: True

"The Langoliers", and "Secret Window" (story is called "Secret Window, Secret Garden"), both short stories from King's book "Four Past Midnight", have been made into movies as have many of his other books. A few more movies that were adapted from Stephen King stories are "Cujo", "The Shining", "Carrie", "Misery", "Children of the Corn", "Pet Semetery", "Needful Things", "It", and "The Dead Zone". "The Dead Zone" was also made into a television show starring Anthony Michael Hall.
