Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Towards the beginning of the film, Evan's mum gets called into school because Evan drew a picture of what?

Answer: People dying

Evan's mum gets called into school because Evan drew a picture of people dying, and he couldn't remember doing it. This is the first time Evan has a blackout. You actually SEE Evan drawing this picture later on in the film, just before he impales his hands to prove to Carlos that he can perform miracles.
2. Evan's Dad warns him that you cannot try and fix people's lives.

Answer: True

When Evan goes to visit his dad for the first time, Evan has a blackout. He comes round to find his dad attacking him. Later on in the film you realise that the older Evan went back to this point in time, and asked his dad how he could put things right in the world. His dad warns Evan that he can't, and then attempts to kill him, to stop Evan from trying to do this.
3. At what point in his life does Evan travel to, when he causes the first major timeline change in the world?

Answer: To Kayleigh's basement and "Robin Hood"

He prevents Kayleigh's dad from molesting her as a child, which results in Kayleigh being happy and having a relationship with Evan.
4. Who is Evan's roommate in his orginal reality?

Answer: Thumper

Lenny is Evan's roommate after Evan goes and tries to save the woman and baby from the Blockbuster. Thumper is his orginal roommate. You first meet him 7 years after Evan's last blackout. Thumper never understands what is going on with Evan, and Evan never tells him, even after he works out that the blackouts were actually times in his life that he returned to, to try and change the future.
5. What is the name of the actress who plays Kayleigh?

Answer: Amy Smart

Amy Smart plays adult Kayleigh in the film. She has also starred in films such as "Road Trip", "Starsky and Hutch", "Rat Race", and "Starship Troopers".
6. What is the name of the actor who plays Evan.

Answer: Ashton Kutcher

This is one of the first drama/thrillers that he's done. Most of his other films have been comedies such as "Dude, Where's My Car" and "Cheaper By The Dozen". He has also been in "That 70's Show".
7. Why does Evan keep having nose bleeds everytime he returns to the present?

Answer: His brain can't handle the extra memories from other realities.

You always see flashbacks of different memories everytime Evan returns to the present. These are what he is cramming into his head, resulting in seizures and nosebleeds. At one point in the film, Evan and his mom visit the doctor. Evan explains to his mum that he has crammed 40 years worth of memories in an amazingly short period of time.
8. Who does Evan get blamed for the death of, which causes him to be put in an institution?

Answer: Kayleigh Miller

Evan gets put in prison for killing Tommy in the reality where Kayleigh and Evan are at college together, and in a relationship. Lenny gets institutionalised for killing Tommy when he stabs Tommy with the piece of metal at the scrapyard. This happens when Evan goes back in time to the scrapyard stop Tommy from killing his dog. Evan gets institutionalised when he goes back in time to Kayleigh's basement once more, and tries to destroy the Blockbuster to stop them blowing up the woman and her baby.

There is a struggle in the basement between Evan and Kayleigh's father, resulting in the Blockbuster flying towards Kayleigh, who thinks it's a sparkler.
9. In the director's cut, Evan travels back to before he was born and causes himself to be stillborn.

Answer: True

When Evan and his mum go and visit the fortune teller, she says that Evan was never meant to exist and Evan's mum tells him that she had two still births before having him. If you notice, when you hear his mum's voice as he is strangling himself in his mum's womb, she says she had three still births. You later see her with another child. You are lead to believe that perhaps Evan was not the first child in his family. That perhaps, other children born to his mum had to destroy themselves before they were born, to prevent themselves casuing destruction in other people's lives.
10. In the director's cut how does the film end?

Answer: Kayleigh and Evan never meet, and she is happy.

The Director's Cut has a totally different ending to the cinema version. As Evan was stillborn, Kayleigh and Tommy go to live with their mum, and they are happy. When Evan is alive, the only reason Kayleigh lives with her father is so she can be close to Evan. This is what causes all the pain in her life. She never gets molested by her father, nor does her father beat her brother.
