2. It is a dark night, and Judith Traherne has a severe headache. She is seeing things out of focus, and experiencing dizziness. She has a fast life. Answer: Dark Victory

"Dark Victory" (1939) has a well known cast besides the great Bette Davis, such as Humphrey Bogart, George Brent, Geraldine Fitzgerald, and former Republican Governor and President of the United States, Ronald Reagan. This was also Fitzgerald's first American film and the eighth film collaboration of Bette Davis and George Brent.

This film was remade in 1963, renamed "Stolen Hours" and starred Susan Hayward and Michael Craig.
3. It is a dark and empty space... outer space! The ship "Dark Star" is travelling to find unstable planets and destroy them. They pose a threat to other planets that could be colonized. However, the ship has no Commander, the crew is bored to death, and the ship itself is falling apart. The ship has smart bombs. They think for themselves, and since they're bombs... they explode! What science-fiction John Carpenter film is this, I wonder?

Answer: Dark Star

The budget of this film was $60,000. It was originally a student film. Fifteen minutes were added to the film so they could show it theatrically. It was co-written with Dan O'Bannon (writer of "Alien" (1979)) who sees this as a serious science fiction film, yet most people see it as a black comedy. This film was also John Carpenter's first major film as a director.
4. This darkened story has a young woman named Ruth Rutherford from Long Island, New York engaged to a Lord Wellington. After she is crippled by a horse she breaks her engagement to Wellington who returns to his regiment in Egypt in a deep depression. Ruth learns of his plight and goes to Egypt where she meets a doctor named Muhammad Ali who says he'll heal her of her injury if she marries him. She agrees, and after she is healed the good doctor is murdered by Ruth's servant! This Victor Fleming film does have a happy ending but before you go out looking for it to see how it ends tell me first the name of this 1923 film?

Answer: Dark Secrets

This film was written by Edmund Goulding, who also wrote "Grand Hotel" (1932) which starred Greta Garbo, and "The Razor's Edge" (1946) which starred Gene Tierney and Tyrone Power. It starred Dorothy Dalton of the silent film era. Many of Dalton's films are preserved in the United States Library of Congress.
5. It's a dark night in Czechoslovakia. Frantisek Sláma, a former RAF pilot, is imprisoned. He's reflecting on his past service when Germany invaded his homeland. He remembers how he and a good friend and fellow pilot flee to the United Kingdom and fight in the Battle of Britain. He remembers the tribulations he endured throughout his service. Where he thought there was happiness, there was only torment in the end. This film, "Tmavomodrý svět" was directed by the Academy Award winner Jan Svěrák. What's the English title of this film?

Answer: Dark Blue World

At a cost of just over $10 million this film only made $2.3 million worldwide. However, the film was generally favored by film critics and has a good rating with viewers. It took home five of the 12 awards it was nominated for at the 2002 Czech Lion Awards.
6. One late night in Hotel Casablanca a manager of the hotel has been murdered! And he isn't the first. Nazi war criminal Heinrich Stubel is looking for his stolen loot that he has in the hotel. I wonder what this horrific Marx Brothers film could be called?

Answer: A Night in Casablanca

Okay. So it's a comedy... unless you didn't find it funny? Groucho Marx created a fictitious controversy with Warner Bros. Pictures concerning the legality of using the name "Casablanca" in his title, making it a sly joke with huge publicity in promotion of his film. Ironically, years later Warner Bros. purchased an independent film company which had Groucho's film in its library, so Warner Bros. acquired the rights to the film.
7. It's a late night for a serial killer. Reverend Harry Powell loves to marry women... and then murder them! But don't fret! The good ol' reverend is arrested for driving a stolen car, and is sent to jail. His cellmate was sent to jail for murder and robbery of a bank. They found him but not the money. Powell wants that money. His cellmate dies, and Powell gets out and marries his cellmate's widow! What terrifying film am I describing?

Answer: The Night of the Hunter

This movie flopped hugely at its release in theatres in 1955. Critics hated it, and viewers hated it, probably because the lead was playing a Christian religious leader (self-appointed) who used his position to murder women for their wealth. However years later it grew a significant fan base, and became more appreciated by critics and audiences and was selected for preservation in the Library of Congress's National Film Registry. I am also one of its fans; I gave it an 8/10 at IMDb.
8. Tonight isn't the night to go flying. There is a killer in the skies! A Skymaster flies over our heads with a serial killer who kills his victims in a similar fashion of a vampire! On his tail is a reporter, and he will get his story if it kills him. Written by Stephen King and directed by Mark Pavia, what is this film called?

Answer: The Night Flier

This film was released in 1997 and made only a little over $100,000 in the US alone. Some of the bylines of the newspaper in the film refer to other Stephen King stories such as "Children of the Corn", "The Breathing Method", and "Strawberry Spring". The character Richard Dees is also featured in "The Dead Zone", interviewing a psychic for the same newspaper as in the film.
9. Oh no! There's a pest in the theatre's audience. Are you thinking it's some type of creepy crawly? I shiver at the thought. No. No, it's much, much worse. It's Charlie Chaplin! He's going from one seat to the next. None of them comfortable, I suppose. In what film is Chaplin bothering theatre goers, and starting a brawl?

Answer: A Night in the Show

Charlie Chaplin played two separate roles in this film: Mr. Pest and Mr. Rowdy. I wonder which one was worse? This film was a creation of Chaplin's from a stage play called "Mumming Birds" from out of London, England. He performed this on tour in the US, and brought some of the work in the play into the film.
10. An older gentleman is alone, cold, and just got kicked out of his house by his wife. He's a recognizable man with his tacky white pants. Somehow he hooks up with his daughter's punker boyfriend and gets involved in sex, drugs and rock 'n roll. I really don't see the problem but that's me. What white pants film is this?

Answer: The Night of the White Pants

This film was directed and written by Amy Talkington, and filmed on digital video in and around the Dallas, Texas area. It stars Tom Wilkinson, Selma Blair, and Nick Stahl.
