Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Some animals at the animal safari ran away from me. Who played me?

Answer: Harvey Stephens

Stephens, born on November 12th, 1970 in England, was cast as Damien Thorn. Damien was seen early on in the film going on a walk with Katherine and Robert to enjoy the English countryside. While on the walk, Robert and Katherine got distracted and lost Damien so they went to look for him.

They discovered Damien standing right beside a nearby tree and were glad he was okay. Damien celebrated his birthday with many guests in attendance and he was seen participating in activities like going down a slide and more. Right after Damien's nanny committed suicide at his party, he noticed a rottweiler right alongside a nearby tree and he waved to the dog.

In a later scene, Damien and Katherine visited an animal safari and Damien was puzzled when some of the animals he got near ran away from him.

In Damien's final scene, he was seen at his father and mother's funeral where he held someone's hand and gave an eerie smile. Stephens also starred in the movies "The Omen" (2006) and "Gauguin the Savage".
2. I suggested to Robert that he raise the baby whom he named Damien. Who played me?

Answer: Martin Benson

Benson, a native of London, England, played Father Spiletto. Father Spiletto spoke to Robert Thorn shortly after he and his wife, Katherine, lost their baby. Father Spiletto advised Robert of a newborn baby whose mother had just died and therefore he could use that baby to substitute for the one he lost. Father Spiletto informed him that his wife never had to know about what happened and the baby would be a blessing to her. Robert asked Father Spiletto if the baby had any relatives and Father Spiletto responded that there were no relatives. Robert reluctantly went along with Father Spiletto's suggestion and substituted the newborn baby for the one he and Katherine lost and eventually named him Damien. Benson guest starred on the TV series "Last of the Summer Wine", "Wyatt's Watchdogs" and "Tales of the Unexpected".
3. I was thrilled when my husband became a U.S. Ambassador. Who played me?

Answer: Lee Remick

Remick, born in 1935 in Quincy, Massachusetts, portrayed Katherine Thorn. Katherine was Robert Thorn's wife and was unaware that the baby she gave birth to had died, and that her husband substituted their deceased baby with a baby whose mom died at birth. Katherine was seen early on in the film dressing Damien when Robert told her to pack their bags since they were leaving for London. Katherine asked him why so he informed her that he had become a U.S. Ambassador so she congratulated him on his new job. Midway through the movie, Katherine was seen standing on a chair when Damien deliberately peddled into the chair with his tricycle, causing Katherine to fall.

She became seriously injured and was seen recuperating at a local hospital. In Katherine's final scene in the movie, she was murdered by Damien's nanny, Mrs. Baylock. Remick had roles in the films "Emma's War", "The Competition" and "Tribute".

In 1963, she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film "Days of Wine and Roses", but lost to Anne Bancroft for "The Miracle Worker".

Other Oscar nominees for Best Actress in a Leading Role that year were Bette Davis for "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?", Katharine Hepburn for "Long Day's Journey into Night" and Geraldine Page for "Sweet Bird of Youth".
4. I committed suicide at Damien's birthday party. Who played me?

Answer: Holly Palance

Palance, born on August 5th, 1950 in Los Angeles, California, landed the small role of the nanny. The nanny was first seen holding Damien while his parents looked around their new home in London. The nanny was next seen at Damien's birthday party when she first held him as he blew out the candles on his birthday cake.

She was next seen standing outside a bedroom window to the Thorn residence when she called out to Damien while he rode on a merry go round. She told Damien that she would be doing something just for him and then she jumped with a rope around her neck.

The nanny crashed into a bedroom window, killing herself. Palance was seen in the movies "The Strange Case of the End of Civilization as We Know It", "Golf Etiquette" and "The Best of Times".
5. I was a U.S. Ambassador. Who played me?

Answer: Gregory Peck

Peck, a native of La Jolla, California, was cast as Robert Thorn in "The Omen". Robert was seen near the beginning of the film going to work where he encountered several reporters who wanted to discuss the recent event of Damien's nanny committing suicide. When a reporter asked him if he knew of Damien's nanny possibly using drugs, Robert simply stated that he did not know of any drug usage. Midway through the movie, Robert did some research and came to the conclusion that it was possible Damien was the devil and this upset him.

In Robert's final scene, he was seen taking Damien to a church where he wanted to stab him with a dagger but he was shot dead by several police officers. Peck starred in the films "Roman Holiday", "The Guns of Navarone" and "How the West Was Won".

In 1963, he won an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film "To Kill a Mockingbird".

Answer: Patrick Troughton

Troughton, born in 1920 in London, England, played Father Brennan. Robert was at work one day when his assistant buzzed him and stated a person named Father Brennan was there to see him. Robert said he had no idea who Father Brennan was but he would hear from him.

When Father Brennan entered Robert's office, he informed Robert that he had to accept Christ as his savior. Robert stopped Father Brennan and told him that he heard he was there on urgent business and would like for him to get on to the reason for his visit. Father Brennan started to irritate Robert so he buzzed his assistant to ask that a security guard be sent to his office. Father Brennan then blurted out to Robert that he was at the hospital the night his son was born.

The guard then arrived at Robert's office and escorted Father Brennan out.

In Father Brennan's final scene, a lightning rod fell and impaled him. Troughton had guest starring stints on the TV series "Super Gran", "The Two of Us" and "Jury".
7. I told Robert and Katherine that I wanted to take away some of their troubles. Who played me?

She said she was there to take away some of their troubles and then asked that they take her to see Damien. Mrs. Baylock asked them to leave her alone with Damien for a little bit so they could get acquainted in their own way. Katherine told her that might not be a good idea since Damien was rather shy with strangers but Mrs. Baylock assured her Damien would not be shy around her. Robert stepped in and told Mrs. Baylock he felt it would be okay for her to be with Damien all by herself for a little while so they could form a relationship.

In Mrs. Baylock's final scene, she and Robert fought and Robert wound up killing her. Whitelaw guest starred on the TV shows "Judge John Deed", "Born to Run" and "Screen Two".

Katherine asked Mrs. Horton to take Mrs. Baylock up to Damien's room so they could meet and Mrs. Horton obliged with her request. Mrs. Horton took Mrs. Baylock up a flight of stairs and then told her which room was Damien's. Mrs. Baylock thanked her and then Mrs. Horton told Mrs. Baylock that she would have her things sent up to her. Raynor starred in the movies "A Clockwork Orange", "Three Men in a Boat" and "Madness of the Heart".
9. I was a photographer. Who played me?

Answer: David Warner

Warner was cast as Keith Jennings in "The Omen". Keith worked as a photographer and he decided to investigate Damien since he felt there was more to Damien than met the eye. He spoke to Robert about his suspicions and the two of them went to the hospital in Rome where Damien was born.

They were unable to find out anything there since a fire had destroyed the medical records as well as the maternity and nursery wards. Robert and Keith suspected that Damien was the devil and traveled to Israel to locate an archaeologist named Carl Bugenhagen. Carl knew how to stop the devil so Keith and Robert asked him for help. Carl told both Robert and Keith that Damien would have three sixes as a birthmark if he was the son of the devil.
