Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Life's the same, I'm moving in stereo. Life's the same, except for my shoes. Life's the same, you're shaking like tremolo. Life's the same, it's all inside of you."

Answer: The Cars

"Moving In Stereo", from the Cars' self-titled debut album, originally released in 1978. This song was played during the very memorable swimming pool scene in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High".
2. "I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes, and just for that one moment I could be you."

Answer: Bob Dylan

"Positively Fourth Street", originally released as a single in 1965, was written during the sessions for the album "Highway 61 Revisited", but did not make the album. It was released as a follow-up single to "Like a Rolling Stone" and is considered one of Dylan's best, yet most brutal, songs. This is my favorite Dylan song.
3. "Yeah, you got satin shoes. Yeah, you got plastic boots. Y'all got cocaine eyes. Yeah, you got speed freak jive, now."

Answer: The Rolling Stones

"Can't You Hear Me Knocking", from the album "Sticky Fingers", originally released in 1971. The influence of guitarist, Mick Taylor, can really be heard on this classic track.
4. "God knows you're lookin' good enough, but you're so smooth and the world's so rough; you might have something to lose. Oh no, pretty mama, what you gonna do in those shoes?"

Answer: The Eagles

"Those Shoes", from the album "The Long Run", originally released in 1979. Eagles' guitarist, Joe Walsh, appeared in the 1980 movie, "The Blues Brothers", as a prisoner. Walsh is the coolest member of the Eagles, and was a great addition when he signed on with them in 1976.
5. "Feed the babies who don't have enough to eat. Shoe the children with no shoes on their feet. House the people living in the street."

Answer: Steve Miller Band

"Fly Like An Eagle", from the album of the same name, originally released in 1976. Steve Miller started his first band at age 12, and taught his older brother to play bass, so that he wouldn't have to rely on his mother for transportation to gigs.
6. "Well, you're windy and wild; you got the blues in shoes and your stockings. You're windy and wild, oh yeah."

Answer: T-Rex

"Bang a Gong (Get It On)", from the album "Electric Warrior", originally released in 1971. This song was remade into a hit in 1985 by the Power Station, which included vocalist Robert Palmer and Duran Duran members, John and Andy Taylor.
7. "Clean shirt, new shoes, and I don't know where I am going to. Silk suit, black tie, I don't need a reason why."

Answer: ZZ Top

"Sharp Dressed Man", from the album "Eliminator", originally released in 1983. Drummer Frank Beard said that ZZ Top used good-looking women and cool cars in their videos because both the women and the cars were better looking than the band.
8. "Kick off your shoes and sit right down. Loosen off that pretty French gown. Let me pour you a good, long drink. Ooh, baby, don't you hesitate."

Answer: Rod Stewart

"Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)", from the album "A Night On the Town", originally released in 1976. This tune was written and sung by Rod Stewart, with the help of Britt Ekland, who was Rod's girlfriend at the time, and it was banned from British radio because of the suggestive lyrics.
9. "Oh, I used to be disgusted, and now I try to be amused. But since their wings have got rusted, you know, the angels wanna wear my red shoes."

Answer: Elvis Costello

"(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes", from the album "My Aim is True", originally released in 1977. David Lee Roth once said, of Elvis Costello, that the critics love him because they all look exactly like him.
10. Now, without going back, tell me: What one word was used at least once in each of the previous nine lyrics?
