The Outlaws had the approval and permission to use the name from the infamous motorcycle gang of the same name, reportedly big fans of the band. The band fought successful legal battles for the name with promoters of a male stripper show, as well as with promoters of Willie Nelson, Tompall Glaser, and Waylon Jennings, who had recorded an album entitled "Wanted: The Outlaws."

Answer: Atlanta Rhythm Section

Hailing from Doraville, GA, the Atlanta Rythm Section performed at the White House for Jimmy Carter and headlined the Champagne Jam in Atlanta. ARS was formed came together at a Roy Orbison recording session in 1970. Keyboard player Dean Daughtry and drummer Robert Nix were members of Orbison's band, the Candymen. Doughtry and ARS guitarist J.R.Cobb had also been members of Classics IV. Cobb co-wrote the Classics IV hits "Stormy" and "Spooky."
