1. I was the fifth prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was most known for my missionary work and my profound intelligence.

Answer: Lorenzo Snow

Lorenzo Snow was born April 3, 1814, in Mantua, Ohio. As a youth, he preferred school rather than apprenticeship. He was converted to the Church in 1836. He spent the rest of his life (after his conversion) in service as a missionary, an Apostle, and Church President, which he became on September 13, 1898.

He stabilized Church finances as members increased their tithing and offerings. He died in Salt Lake City on October 10, 1901, at the age of 87. During a Conference Report, on April 1899, he says this: "When you find yourselves a little gloomy, look around you and find somebody that is in a worse plight than yourself; go to him and find out what the trouble is, then try to remove it with the wisdom which the Lord bestows upon you; and the first thing you know, your gloom is gone, you feel light, the Spirit of the Lord is upon you, and everything seems illuminated." This is one of his most remembered talks.

Joseph was really young when doctor Nathan Smith performed surgery on his leg. The disease that led to the surgery is called typhoid. This disease led to an infection of the bone in his left leg between his knee and his ankle. This infection threatened his life, leading to surgery. Joseph had two options, to have his leg amputated, or to try to take out the infected part of bone.

He refused to have his leg amputated, because it would take away all possibility of ever walking again. He also would not consume the alcohol which they wanted to use as painkiller.

Answer: Martyred

Being martyred means to die for your faith. Because Joseph Smith would not stop preaching the gospel, he was killed. The answer to this question could also be found in question three. Joseph Smith was being held in Carthage jail when he was martyred. Joseph was being held along with three other men including his brother, Hyrum.
