Answer: Skip Caray

Skip is part of a three generation line of baseball broadcasters. Sadly, he passed away on August 3, 2008, at 68 after a long battle with Diabetes and related complications. His sons, Chip and Josh, carry on the family tradition broadcasting in the Braves organization.

Answer: Denny Matthews

Denny had been calling Royals games for their entire existence. Denny is also known for a famous radio blooper. Denny was reading an advertisement for a Kansas City based snack company, "Next time you're in the supermarket, grab some Guy's Nuts!"

Answer: Vin Scully

Vin Scully began calling Dodger games in Brooklyn in 1950. Vin received the Ford Frick award and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.

Answer: Red Barber

Barber was affectionately known as The Ol' Redhead. Red also broadcast the first Major League Baseball game on television in 1939 while working for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Barber finished his career with the New York Yankees in 1966 when he was fired for asking a cameraman to pan the empty stands as the Yankees completed a miserable season.

Answer: Harry Caray

Harry Caray is the father of Skip Caray and grandfather of Chip and Josh Caray, all with successful broadcasting careers. Harry is best known for his catch-phrase, "Holy Cow!"

Answer: Jack Buck

Joe is Jack's son and became a successful broadcaster for the Cardinals as well as other sports including football. Mike Shannon called his 37th season as a Cardinal broadcaster in 2008, following his career as a player. John Rooney called games for both the White Sox and the Cardinals.

Answer: Bob Uecker

Bob Uecker had a six-season Major League career as a catcher for several teams. Uecker also starred in the '80s TV hit, "Mr. Belvedere", and portrayed the hilarious Harry Doyle in the "Major League" movies.

Answer: Ernie Harwell

Ernie Harwell is the first and likely only broadcaster ever to be traded for a player. Harwell was calling games for the Southern Association's Atlanta Crackers when the Brooklyn Dodgers traded Cliff Dapper, a catcher, to the Crackers in exchange for Harwell's contract. Ernie went on to broadcast for the New York Giants before joining the Detroit Tigers in 1960.

Answer: Dave Niehaus

Niehaus provided the broadcast voice for the 1999 Nintendo 64 release "Ken Griffey Jr. Slugfest". Niehaus was working for the California Angels when the Seattle Mariners joined the American League, and asked him to join their broadcast team. Duane and Glen Kuiper were brothers and MLB broadcasters for the 2008 Giants and A's respectively. Jon Miller broadcasted for the Giants as well as calling games for ESPN.

Answer: Jack Brickhouse

Ironically, both Jack Brickhouse and Harry Caray died in 1998, the same season that saw both Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire trying to break Roger Maris' home run record. Jack Brickhouse was a Chicago institution calling boxing matches, Chicago Bears football, and baseball for both the Cubs and White Sox.
