Answer: Willie Mays

Willie Mays, the great San Franciscan Giant, blasted 660 home runs in his career. 2 of those came with the New York Mets in his final season.
2. Which of these franchises joined Major league baseball first?

Answer: Pirates

The Mets and Astros began their franchise in 1962, one year after the Angels began. The Pirates began their baseball career 80 years earlier in 1882, when they were known as the Alleghenys. They became the Pirates in 1891.
3. Ty Cobb retired with what Major League team?

Answer: Philadelphia Athletics

After 22 seasons with the Tigers, Cobb packed his bags and played with Connie Mack's bunch in 1927 and 1928. All but 289 of his almost 4200 hits were with the Tigers. Cobb also pitched 3 games in his career for the Tigers.
4. Which of the following players never won a Cy Young award?

Answer: Greg Pinchbeck

Greg never won the coveted award. McCormick won the award with the Giants in 1967, for his 22-10 performance. Marshall of the Dodgers won the award in 1974, and Jones won the Cy in 1976.
5. How many people were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1950?

Answer: 0

Since the Hall opened in 1936, this was the 4th time that no inductees were accepted. The other years were 1940, 1941, and 1943. There were still only two inductees in 1951, in the names of Mel Ott and Jimmie Foxx.
6. Which of the following players NEVER won a season batting average title?

Answer: Ernie Banks

Banks, lovingly known to Chicago fans as 'Mr. Cub', had very consistent numbers throughout his 19 seasons with the Cubs. Although he hit over .300 only three times in his career, he blasted 512 home runs for the club. All other players listed, had won a batting title at least twice in their career.
7. Who led the 1961 Yankees in home runs for the season?

Answer: Roger Maris

This was the year that Maris hit 61 and broke the Babe's record for home runs in a season, but also created a nasty asterisk in the record books. All other Yankees listed hit over 20 home runs that season.
8. What player was born Sanford Braun?

Answer: Sandy Koufax

The great Sanford Braun, or Sandy Koufax, or whoever you want to call him; The "K" stood for strikeout. He was born on December 30th, 1935, in Brooklyn, and became a Dodger in 1955. Only 12 seasons later, he was forced to retire with arthritis problems. His credentials were tremendous including 3 Cy Young awards.
9. What team began their franchise known as the "Quakers"?

Answer: Philadelphia

The Quakers from Philadelphia began in 1883, and continued the Quaker name until 1889, when they became the Phillies (for the first time of two) in 1890. The franchise was also called the Blue Jays.
10. Who lost the 2002 World Series?

Answer: San Francisco Giants

The Angels beat the Giants in the west coast World Series 4 games to 3. 4 of the 7 games were decided by only one run.
