Answer: Ty Cobb

Cobb hit .420 in 1911, .409 in 1912, and .401 in 1922, all for the Detroit Tigers. No other player listed, hit .400 in a full season.
2. The 2002 Oakland Athletics won an amazing 103 games. Who led the team with the most wins?

Answer: Barry Zito

Zito was 23-5 with an ERA of 2.75. His efforts won him the American League Cy Young Award. The other A's pitchers listed, won only 2 games in the season.
3. Mike Scioscia won the American League Manager of the Year in 2002. Who won it for the National League?

Answer: Tony LaRussa

It was Tony's 4th Manager of the Year Award. LaRussa and the Cardinals won the National League Central Division with a 97-65 record. Baker managed the Giants, and both Garner and Pujols, shared their season with last place Detroit.

Answer: Tony Batista

The Orioles third baseman hit 31 for the team. The others listed did not hit any. The Orioles finished 4th in the AL East.

Answer: Mark McGwire

Mark hit 363 for the A's from 1986-1997. Foxx is the runner-up in this group by hitting 302, including 58 in 1932.
9. The New York Giants were called what, before becoming the Giants?

Answer: Gothams

The team became the New York Giants in 1885, after two years of being the Gothams. The Gothams finished 6th and 4th, of 8 teams in the league during their two seasons. Their first season as the New York Giants brought them a 2nd place finish. The team moved to San Francisco in 1958.
10. How many shutouts were thrown in the 2002 World Series, between the Giants and the Angels?

Answer: 0

There were no shutouts in this West Coast World Series. There were 4 one-run games in the Series that saw Angel Troy Glaus, win the MVP.
