1. After the first week of the 2003 season, which National League team was the only team not to win a game?

Answer: Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers were the only National League team listed. With Arizona, Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Florida winning one game, the Brewers were the only team without a 'W'. The Milwaukee fans hoped this was not an indication of what is to come.
2. Who led the 2002 Tampa Bay Devil Rays in home runs?

Answer: Aubrey Huff

Huff was the only Devil Ray listed, as the others were Toronto Blue Jays. The 25 year old Designated Hitter smacked 23 for Tampa Bay, along with batting .313. After the 2001 season, Huff was moved from third base to the DH position.
3. Who won the 2002 American League Rolaids Relief Award?

Answer: Billy Koch

The other 2 listed, won the award previously in the National League. Koch went 11-4 for the Athletics, and also had 44 saves for the team. John Smoltz of the Braves won it for the National League.
4. Who won the 1911 World Series?

Answer: Philadelphia Athletics

None of the other teams existed in 1911. The Athletics under the management of Connie Mack, defeated the New York Giants 4 games to 2. Except for the game 6, 13-2 A's victory, all the other games were decided by 2 runs or less. The Athletics were rostered with the greats of Frank Baker, Eddie Collins, and the arms of Eddie Plank and Jack Coombs.
5. Who retired in 1928, with a record setting career batting average of .366?

Answer: Ty Cobb

Cobb played 22 of his 24 seasons with the Tigers. His final 2 seasons saw him in an Athletic uniform. He batted at least .300 in 23 seasons, and hit over .400 three times in his career. The others listed, had not played in a Major League game yet in 1928.
6. How many teams did Tony Gwynn play on throughout his career of 20 seasons?

Answer: 1

Gwynn spent his entire career in a Padre uniform, retiring in 2001. He led the league 8 times for his batting averages. In 1994 he came close to the .400 mark, and settled for a .394 average. He retired with a .338 career average.
7. Which of the following managers did not have 2000 career wins?

Answer: Rogers Hornsby

Hornsby won only 701 games as a manager. His St.Louis Cardinals won the 1926 World Series. Mack won 3731, Alston won 2040, and Durocher won 2008 games.

Answer: Jose Canseco

Jose Canseco Capas Jr., edged out Wally Joyner of the Angels for the Rookie of the Year Award in 1986. In 1988, Canseco was the only player to receive 1st place votes for the MVP.
9. Who was the first Giant to hit over .400 in a season?

Answer: Bill Terry

The others listed, never played with the Giants. Terry played all his 14 seasons in a Giant uniform. In 1930, he hit .401 along with 254 hits. Oddly enough, he was still not in the top 10 for MVP voting. This Hall of Famer retired in 1936 with a .341 career average.
10. What player was known as 'The Chairman of the Board'?

Answer: Whitey Ford

Ford pitched for 16 seasons, all with the Yankees, and retired in 1967. He won the Cy Young Award in 1961, along with a World Series MVP the same season. Whitey won 10 games in his 11 World Series.
