Answer: Randy Johnson

The others listed were all American League pitchers. Johnson led his Diamondbacks and the Majors by going 24-5, earning him his 5th Cy Young Award. 2003 was Randy's 15th season in baseball.
2. Which of the following greats fell 7 home runs short of joining the 500 home run club in baseball?

Answer: Lou Gehrig

Both Banks and Mathews retired with 512 four-baggers, and Foxx hit 534. Gehrig would have undoubtedly reached the 500 mark and more, had it not been for his disease, which he died of in 1941. Lou hit 493, all with the Yankees in 17 seasons.

Answer: Babe Ruth

Ruth has the others by more than 25 years. The Babe was born on February 6, 1895. He made his debut at the age of 19 with the Boston Red Sox in 1914. Spahn was born in 1921, Berra 1925, and Burdette in 1926.
