Answer: Leon Wagner

Wagner hit 28 home runs, only 3 more than Angel outfielder Ken Hunt. Wagner also had 127 hits and 79 RBIs.
2. What Major League "Boog" retired with 339 home runs?

Answer: Boog Powell

John Wesley "Boog" Powell played most of his 17 season career with the Orioles. He was always a feared batter to most pitchers. He retired in 1977 after appearing in 50 games as a Los Angeles Dodger. He won the American League MVP in 1970.
3. Which of the following teams lost 3 World Series in a row in the 20th Century?

Answer: Detroit Tigers

The Tigers lost 3 straight 1907-08-09. They were the only team in the 20th Century to lose three in a row. They were led by manager Hughie Jennings all 3 seasons.

The Babe wore the number 3 with the Yankees. Lou Gehrig wore number 4 as a Yankee.

Bonds won them in 1992 and 1993. The last American League player to win two in a row in the 20th Century was Frank Thomas with the White Sox in 1993 and 1994.

Answer: Mark McGwire

Big Mac in his official rookie year in 1987 hit 49 home runs. He was traded to the Cardinals in mid-season of his 12th year. He retired with the Cardinals in 2001.

Answer: Buck Showalter

Showalter led the team in their inaugural year in 1998 to a 5th place finish, only to win their division the following year with a record of 100-62.
10. What position did Major League great Ron Perranoski play?

Answer: pitcher

Perranoski was a major force in relief pitching especially in 1963 with the Los Angeles Dodgers by having a record of 16-3. He played for 13 seasons with the Dodgers, Twins, Tigers, and Angels. He never allowed more than 7 home runs in an entire season.
