Answer: Texas Rangers

The other teams listed were all in the National League. The Rangers finished the season with a 72-90 record, 31 games behind division winner Oakland. The Rangers had only one 10 game winner, in Kenny Rogers who went 13-8.
2. Which of the following was a 2000 Hall of Fame inductee?

Answer: Carlton Fisk

The other 3 were some of the 5 initial inductees in 1936. Fisk, who played 24 seasons with the Red Sox and White Sox, was the 1972 American League Rookie of the Year. This was the only major award that he won in his career. He was most famous for his 1975 game 6 World Series home run in the bottom of the 12th inning against the Reds. The Reds still won the Series 4 games to 3.
3. Of the 2003 teams, what team began their franchise career in 1961?

Answer: Angels

The Los Angeles Angels were the only team that began their franchise in 1961. Under manager Bill Rigney, the team finished a dismal 70-91. The following season saw the Houston Colt .45's and New York Mets also begin their franchise.

The others listed never managed a MLB game. Although Casey managed the Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves, New York Mets, and New York Yankees, all his pennant winning endeavors came with the Yankees. Of 10 pennants in the American League, 7 were World Series titles also. Stengel managed for 25 seasons. He died in 1975.

He was the MVP runner-up in 1980, behind Mike Schmidt of the Phillies.

He then played for the Red Sox for 8 more seasons, before he retiring in 1941. Although he won the Triple Crown in both '30 and '31, he only won the MVP in 1931.

There was no MVP awarded in 1930 in either league. Grove was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1947.
