1. How many drivers recorded their first career victories during the 1997 season?

Heinz-Harald Frentzen drove his Williams to victory in San Marino. Hakkinen took the last race of the season, the European at Jerez in Spain, in his McLaren. Incidentally, Villeneuve finished third in that race to clinch the Championship.
2. Which driver crashed at the 1997 Canadian GP, causing the Red Flag to come out?

Answer: Olivier Panis

Panis suffered a broken leg in the accident, which scattered tyres from the tyre wall all over the track. Jarno Trulli moved from Minardi to replace Panis with the Prost team until the latter returned in September. Trulli's performance was good enough to earn him the second seat at Prost for 1998.
3. Who was the youngest driver in the 1997 season?

Answer: Tarso Marques

Marques was just 21 years old when he replaced Trulli at Minardi in mid-season. He had also driven in two races for the team in 1996.
4. Who was the oldest driver in the 1997 season?

Answer: Gerhard Berger

Berger turned 38 during the season.
