Answer: Mika Hakkinen

The McLarens dominated qualifying in the dry with Mika on the pole from Coulthard with Damon third, ahead of Michael Schumacher's Ferrari.

Answer: David Coulthard

DC hit an alley gully spearing his McLaren head first into the wall before bouncing back across the track, starting the chain-reaction.

The unlucky men were: David Coulthard, Eddie Irvine, Olivier Panis, Jarno Trulli, Rubens Barrichello, Ralf Schumacher, Mika Salo, Pedro Diniz, Esteban Tuero, Ricardo Rosset, Tora Takagi, Johnny Herbert and Alexander Wurz.
