Answer: 1969

It was a baseball anniversary and with the addition of two teams, each league was divided into Western and Eastern Divisions.
2. What Yankee manager was fired in early 1966?

Answer: Johnny Keane

The Yankees finished 6th in 1965. Houk replaced Keane in early 1966.
3. Who won the first National League Eastern Division crown?

Answer: Mets

It went to a best 3 out of 5 games against the Western Division Champs, Atlanta Braves in 1969.
4. Which of the following has NEVER hit .400 in a season?

Answer: Honus Wagner

Wagner never made it. Sisler=1920, Heilmann=1923, and Terry=1930.
5. Which of the following hit exactly 50 home runs in a season?

Answer: Jimmy Foxx

Foxx hit his in 1938. All the others listed are also members of the 50+ Home Run Club.
6. Which of the following owned the New York Yankees?

Answer: CBS

CBS purchased the Yankees near the end of the 1964 season.

This was another one of Bill Veeck's 'projects' in Cleveland. It happened on Sept. 28, 1947. They were all brought in a temperature controlled aircraft directly from Hawaii for the night.

Answer: Koenig

It was the Yankee shortstop. Koenig also had a triple in this game on Sept. 30, 1927.

Hornsby is the only player listed not to achieve this milestone.
10. What was Warren Spahn's pitching record in his first MLB season?

Answer: 8-5

It was 1946 and Warren didn't get much playing time. The following year he was 21-10.
