Gretzky and Dionne tied with 137 points, but Dionne won on the basis that he had 53 goals to Gretzky's 51. Gretzky would eventually win the trophy 10 times.
2. 1994-Hart Trophy (League MVP)

Answer: Sergei Fedorov

Fedorov had his best season in '93-94, scoring 120 points. He won the Hart, Selke, and Pearson trophies.
3. 1989-Lester B. Pearson (MVP as voted by the players)

Yzerman had a career high 155 points that year. Amazingly, he did not win or even finish runner up in Hart Trophy voting.
4. 1988-Selke (Best Defensive Forward)

1988 was Carbonneau's first of three Selke wins. He also finished as runner up in 1987 and 1990.
5. 1982-Vezina (Top Goalie)

Answer: Billy Smith

Billy Smith of the Islanders won the trophy in 1982, the first year it was awarded to the league's top goalie. Before that, it was awarded to the goalies who played for the team allowing the least amount of goals, a role which the Jennings trophy now fills.
6. 1990-Calder (Top Rookie)

Answer: Sergei Makarov

Makarov won the Calder in 1990 amid much controversy, considering he had been a star in the Soviet Union for many years. Later, the NHL put an age limit on players eligible for the award.
7. 1997-Masterson (Perseverance)

Answer: Tony Granato

Granato won the '97 Masterson after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain. He returned to the NHL and continued his successful playing career.

Shero won the Adams after leading the Flyers to a Stanley Cup victory. He revolutionized hockey by introducing the concept of rolling four lines, a tactic which many talented teams still utilize today.

Harry Howell won in '67, a year before Bobby Orr began his string of eight consecutive wins.
10. 1986-Conn Smythe (Playoff MVP)
