Answer: Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Diana Taurasi

Olympians Diana Taurasi, Swin Cash, and Sue Bird, were all former UCONN players. Before Swin and Sue graduated in 2002, the UCONN Huskies went 39-0 and won the national championship. Even after losing such talented teamates, Diana Taurasi led her team to two more championships, defeating Tennessee in both title games.
2. Which would-be Olympian was injured prior to the Olympic games, and had to be replaced?

Answer: Delisha Milton-Jones

Delisha Milton-Jones tore her anterior crucial ligament prior to the beginning of the 2004 season. She was able to play a few games, but re-injured her knee. She was replaced by Ruth Riley. Katie Smith was injured just prior to the games, but she still traveled with the team to Athens.

Sheryl Swoopes was injured shortly after returning from Athens, and missed the remainder of the WNBA season, but she did play in Athens. Swin Cash was also injured prior to the end of the WNBA season, with the same injury as Milton-Jones, a torn ACL, but she too participated in the Athens games.
