Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to Mary Alice, how long had Juanita Solis been dreaming?

Answer: 5 months

Mama Solis had been dreaming since her coma began. Mary Alice narrated that sometimes she dreamed of Gabby's affair with John, and sometimes she dreamed of Andrew running her down in the street. But the thing she dreamed the most about was the one of her waking up to tell Carlos the truth about Gabby. Then one night, she finally decided it was just time to wake up!
2. Did Juanita ever get the chance to tell anyone about Gabrielle's cheating on Carlos?

Answer: Yes

After slipping on a wet floor and falling down a staircase, Juanita was able to tell the night nurse that her son's wife was cheating on him. Then, Juanita died. I am not sure how the woman was able to jump out of her bed and run around the hospital after five months in a coma.. her leg muscles should have been useless at this point. Dagney Kerr played the nurse, Ruth Ann.

She is best known to me as the demon Kathy from the first two episodes of "Buffy" season four. But, she also played Claudia on "George Lopez".
3. After several unsuccessful attempts by Mike to communicate with Susan, how did he finally try to let her know the truth about his past?

Answer: he wrote her a letter

Susan fantasized about not caring what his reasons were, but in the end she just hid from him when he came over. He slipped a letter under her door, and she picked it up immediately. This let Mike know she was home, so he went on about how the letter was the truth about his past.
4. Who asked Susan out for lunch?

Answer: Bill Cunningham

Bill was Edie's new contractor. When Susan came out to find a flat tire, she discovered a nail was the cause. So, she walked the nail back over to the construction site and returned it to the contractor. When Bill first met the ladies, they were all standing outside of Susan's house, and though Edie claimed to be 'sort of' dating him, he gave Susan a long hard stare.

He came over to her house and re-inflated her tire. After warning her she'd probably only get 20-30 miles out of it, he asked her to have lunch with him.

Despite it only being a "burrito and a soda", Susan explained it was too soon for her to have lunch with him. Actor Rick Ravanello played Bill. In 2010, Rick played Lars on "Weeds". Lars was the biological father of Nancy's son Silas.
5. Lynette's new friend Alisa, played by actress Marlee Matlin, had what in common with Tom?

Answer: they both worked in advertising

At Lynette's dinner, Alisa told Tom that she'd worked for five years at Simon and Scott, and Tom said he'd started at that company. As Tom and Alisa started their own conversation, Alisa's husband Dennis engaged Lynette in an uncomfortable conversation about the state of his marriage.

He told Lynette that they were in counseling, at Alisa's suggestion, and that he spent an hour looking at the clock while she blamed him for everything. He sounded like a real whiner, no wonder Alisa "blamed" him for everything! Lynette confessed it all to Tom after they left.
6. Did Edie give Susan permission to go out with Bill the contractor?

Answer: No

Susan did ask if it was okay with Edie, and explained that he'd asked her out. When Edie said "no", Susan did not understand why. If Bill wasn't into Edie, and Edie admittedly had no real feelings for him, Susan thought she should be able to go on a date.

When Susan expressed that she did not really need Edie's permission, Edie told Susan she had been trying to like her. But, Susan kept on doing things to make Edie not like her. I was with Edie on this one. If Susan thought she needed to ask Edie's permission, she should have been ready, as a friend, to accept whatever answer she was given.

When Susan asked Edie if her take was that if Edie couldn't have him, no one could have him, Edie told her that now she was thinking like a friend.
7. Who became angry and stormed out of Mama Solis' funeral procession?

Answer: Gabrielle

Gabby was already out of joint, so to speak, about the cost of burying her mother-in-law. Carlos kept on expressing that he no choice but to spend a lot of money on his mother, despite that fact that were broke because of his actions. First Gabby asked how much the horse and buggy carrying the casket cost.

Then, when she spotted a mausoleum, which she called a "crypt", she'd had enough. She took off away from the procession, with Carlos quickly running after her. Bree took over leading the people toward the burial site, and Gabby let Carlos have it.

She told him she was made that because of the funeral expense, she wouldn't even have a nice little apartment to live in. Once again the spineless man asked "what am I supposed to do", and Gabby told him to take the 8 months in jail offered by the plea bargain.
8. What was the name of the camp Andrew was being sent to by his parents?

Answer: Camp Hennessey

Rex and Bree had finally had enough of Andrew's behavior. They woke him up to tell him of their decision. He said there was no way he was going to go to a camp for juvenile delinquents. But, as is the case with these facilities, teens are often forcibly removed from their homes. And, this is exactly what happened to Andrew.
9. Sacred Heart Hospital offered Gabrielle and Carlos a settlement in regards to the negligent death of Juanita Solis. Based on Gabrielle's subsequent conversation with her lawyer, how much money were they offered?

Answer: $1,600,000

Though Mr. Steinberg was never shown completely explaining what had happened, as the scene ended it was inferred that he'd explain why he wanted to pay off the Solis family. Carlos was not at the meeting, but had already agreed to take the plea bargain. So, after the meeting, Gabby was seen sitting in her car talking to her lawyer Mr. Hartley. Gabby asked him what the government would do if she, say, won 1.6 million dollars in the lottery. By her reaction, he had to have said that they'd take the money.

When she asked what would happen to it after Carlos turned himself in to jail, she apparently received a more pleasing response, which included being able to keep her house. She then asked him what time she needed to have Carlos at the D.A.'s office the next morning.
10. In this episode, did Susan ever learn Mike's truth about his past?

Answer: No

After her date with Bill was a disaster, and he informed her she loved drama, it seemed Susan began to realize the truth. Instead of being the victim that had things just happen to her, she began to see that she created her own disasters. By ignoring Edie's request, she created the drama with Bill. By ignoring Bill's advice about the tire on her car, she was in a car accident with Bill.

At the end of the episode, as Mary Alice narrated about rescuing ourselves, Susan slipped Mike's unopened letter back underneath his own door. Doors are supposed to have seals at the bottom so that climate control does not cost more than necessary. Yes, I noticed irritating things like that.
