Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What did Mrs. McCluskey take from the front of Lynette's house?

Answer: garbage cans

Karen McCluskey was walking away from Lynette's just as Lynette was walking out to put garbage inside the cans. She informed Lynette that pick-up had been two days prior and so she assumed Lynette no longer wanted the cans. It was her way of minding someone else's business, all the while pointing out to Lynette she was not doing what she was supposed to do. So, Lynette informed Karen she needed to hire someone to landscape the jungle in her front lawn. Shortly afterward, Karen sunk toward the ground in pain. And, even though she knew she'd regret it, Lynette called an ambulance for her neighbor.

She even rode in with the woman to the hospital.
2. Mike met Noah Taylor in a cemetery and learned the news that Deirdre's body had been recovered.

Answer: True

Noah told Mike that she'd been identified by her dental records. It was Deirdre's dismembered body found in the Youngs' toy chest. It was hard for her father to believe he'd been looking for her for fifteen years and she'd been dead the entire time. Noah told Mike he'd come to the cemetery to pick out a headstone for his daughter so that he could bury her.

Then, he told Mike to talk to Detective Sullivan and review the leads in Deirdre's case. If she'd been dead for 15 years, and in the toy chest for the entire time.. how had the toy chest had been purchased 12 years ago?
3. Who told Andrew they'd love him even if he was a murderer?

Answer: Bree

Bree wanted to get Andrew out of his camp environment because there were so many more boys there to tempt him. She thought Christian counseling should be started to prevent him from making "being gay" a lifestyle. Then, she told Andrew himself she'd love him even if he was a murderer. Nice, equate being gay to a criminal act, what a great parent!

Creator Marc Cherry had said in interviews that the quote came from what his own mother said to him, when she found out he was gay.
4. What gift did Karen McCluskey give to Lynette for "not letting me die in the street"?

Answer: a lamp

It turned out she'd overdosed slightly on her arthritis medicine. She thanked Lynette for not allowing her to "die in the street" with a gift of an ugly lamp. Lynette did not appear too keen on accepting the gift, but Karen insisted she keep it. She told Lynette it was Tiffany and in her family for years.

Then she hugged Lynette and waited for an invite into her house. She never got one, but came inside anyway.
5. Who was unable to pay for their dinner at a nice restaurant?

Answer: Gabrielle

Gabby used the credit card John had given her to buy shoes and dinner. Unfortunately, John's parents had co-signed for that card and the bank called them to report unusual activity. When confronted, John panicked and said the card had been stolen. His mom canceled the card, so when Gabby tried to pay for her expensive dinner, the card was declined. John suggested she take back the shoes to get her money, but she found that idea "hysterical".

Not funny hysterical, but kind of crazy hysterical.
6. Bree invited Reverend Sikes (actor Dakin Matthews) over for dinner to perform a mini Christian intervention for Andrew.

Answer: True

The man offered to help Andrew fight his "unnatural urges" and consoled that being a teenager is a "confusing time". Bree pressed Andrew to consider the help from the ministry, while Rex quietly observed the situation as he ate dinner. Andrew was unusually respectful, stating he was not confused, did not hate himself and did not require any help from Sikes. Reverend Sikes stopped pushing, but said he'd be available if Andrew decided he did need help. Bree became agitated at the fact no one was forcing Andrew to become straight, and this caused Rex to speak up in support of Andrew being whoever he was meant to be.

Dakin Matthews has been a great character actor. Some of his guest and reoccurring roles include the shows "General Hospital", "King of Queens", "Charmed", "House", "Medium" and "True Blood".
7. Who said, "I'm a pretty girl, and pretty girls are never lonely."

Answer: Gabrielle

In my opinion, pretty girls may never be alone, but they are plenty lonely. Gabby was expressing to Carlos that she didn't really need him for money. He said he would not tear up the post-nup he'd forced her to sign. She said that he would tear it up or else she'd walk right out of the house in her pretty new shoes.
8. Who went to see Mike to talk to him about Susan?

Answer: Sophie

Susan, sick of her mother's flippant attitude toward relationships, explained to her that she was devastated over losing Mike. Sophie, mostly likely feeling guilty, went to see Mike to explain about Susan's heartbreak. Mike told Sophie he'd just found out that someone he was close to had died, and he did not have time for Susan.
9. Did Andrew admit to Reverend Sikes he had a plan to get his ultimate revenge on his mom?

Answer: Yes

The last straw for Andrew was when Bree told him she wanted him to repent his sins because she was afraid they would not meet in Heaven. No matter if she believed it to be true, it was the most awful form of emotional manipulation. Andrew went to confess his sins to Reverend Sikes, who made the vow that he would not repeat Andrew's confession. So, Andrew told the man he was not actually gay at all.

He swore that it was just a ploy to get out of Camp Hennessey. He implied he was mostly straight, and occasionally had a craving for guys.

He used an ice cream analogy to convey this to Sikes. He went on to tell the story of Bree's manipulation about Heaven. Sikes agreed that Andrew had to to repent his sins to get into Paradise. Andrew matter-of-factly said he did not believe in God, but would use this opportunity to get the ultimate revenge on his mom.

He'd present Bree with a miraculous turn around and be the perfect son. And, just when she was blissfully happy, he'd do something so awful it would destroy her world. Personally, I think Andrew was underestimating Bree's ability to compartmentalize her life.
10. Fill in the blank: "Human beings are designed for many things, but ________ is not one of them."

Answer: loneliness

Mary Alice narrated that many people lose their companions along the way, but humans were not designed for loneliness. And, with that, I'd have to agree.
