When he turned on the machine, it would transfer all of Bruce's knowledge into Egghead's brain, which would help him find out if Bruce was Batman. Dick was nearby and pushed a lever, causing the machine to malfunction. Egghead was unable to learn that Bruce was indeed Batman.

Since the three failed to deliver the raccoon pelts in time, Chief Screaming Chicken of the Mohicans became the owner of Gotham City.

It turned out that Chief Screaming Chicken had entered into a contract with Egghead which allowed Egghead to act on Chief Screaming Chicken's behalf, making him the owner of Gotham City. Eventually, ownership of the city was wrestled out of Egghead's hands.

After Egghead announced that he had ownership of Gotham City, he entered Gotham City Police Headquarters to announce his first move.
