This episode was the first appearance of Detective Kate Lockley, played by Elisabeth Rohm.

The actress in the episode was named Rebecca, she was played by Tamara Gorski.

Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) came to visit Angel from Sunnydale, and because Angel became human they got back together. Angel went to the Oracles and reversed the day, erasing all that he and Buffy shared. He later revealed this to Doyle, who in turn told Cordelia.

This was the first ever episode of 'Angel', and introduced Doyle and Cordelia as regulars. This was also our first encounter with the evil law firm Wolfram and Hart. Doyle was not supposed to be Angel's sidekick and link to the Powers that Be. It was supposed to be Whistler, from the "Buffy" season two finale.

7. Kate's dad was murdered by vampires that he was working with.

Trevor, Kate's father, was played by John Mahon. He was also in the episode 'Sense and Sensitivity'.

8. This was Gunn's first episode.

Gunn was played by J. August Richards in all five seasons. Gunn lost his sister in "War Zone", when she was captured and turned into a vampire.

The events in the episode set the stage for Angel's last trip to Sunnydale in season four of "Buffy". He sent Buffy away, as he was protecting Faith, and he had to go after her and apologize. Angel met Riley in "The Yoko Factor" and did not return to Sunnydale until after Joyce's death in season five.

Christian Kane guest starred as Lindsey McDonald. Christian appeared on 21 episodes of "Angel" from season one through the series finale "Not Fade Away".

Faith came close to this task, but Angel caught a wooden arrow just in time. She tortured Wesley, and then begged Angel to kill her. He saved her instead.

Doyle was played by Glenn Quinn. Glenn also spent several seasons playing Mark Healy on "Roseanne". He died in 2002 of a drug overdose.

Penn was played by Jeremy Renner in this episode. Initially Angel believe he may be the killer, as he dreamt of each murder. This was the episode that Kate discovered Angel's true nature.

Richard was played by Carlos Jacott in this episode. He was also in the season three 'Buffy' premier 'Anne'. She never married Richard, after she found out he intended to eat Doyle's brains. Doyle's ex-wife Harry was played by Kristin Dattilo-Hayward. Kristin is the sister of long time "Days of Our Lives" actor Bryan Dattilo.

18. This was Wesley's first appearance on "Angel".

Alexis Denisof played Wesley first on season three of "Buffy". He was sacked by the Watcher's Council, due to his ineptitude with Faith. He came to Los Angeles as a rogue demon hunter, but we later found out in "Five by Five" that it was because the council wouldn't pay his way back to England. It turned out that his affiliation with Angel was just his destiny.

This episode had the first appearance of Lilah Morgan, who worked for Wolfram and Hart.

Ryan was possessed by an Ethros demon, who confessed that the boy was the "blackest hell" he'd ever known. Ryan was played by Jesse James. Jesse later starred in the films "The Butterfly Effect" and "The Amityville Horror", but before "Angel" he played the lovable Spence in "As Good as It Gets".
