It was obvious that Tigh was uncomfortable in his command, but he knew that decisions needed to be made. The jump to escape the Cylons had been in haste and as a result, Galactica was separated from the rest of the fleet. It would take some thinking to discover a plan that would reunite them.

Ellen was always interested in gaining power and status through her husband and this was a prime opportunity. Tigh wasn't interested in snatching power as he knew Adama could run the ship better than he ever could. "This will be Adama's command until the day he dies," he said to the crew of the CIC.

Apollo was hit by the new ship's gunfire, but he kept on pursuing it, nearly getting himself destroyed in Galactica's flak. He winged the ship, but it was too late. It fell slowly toward Galactica's starboard flight pod and plunged itself within.

There were no crash carts and no Doc Cottle, so the medic had to massage his heart to get it back to a regular beat. Before Colonel Tigh came back to see how Adama was doing, Ishay had told her assistant, "From now on, no more heart massages for me. I'm sticking to pills and enemas."

The knocks had come at Tigh's door when he was at a really low point in his life. When he went to answer the door, he was greeted by two soldiers that informed him he was reinstated by a "Major Adama". Adama had risen up in the ranks and had helped his friend get back into the fleet.
