Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Adventures of Superman

Answer: George Reeves

The show ran from 1952-58 for 104 episodes. Reeves died just a year after the show ended. I remember this being one of the earliest shows I watched as a young boy in the 1990s when it aired on Nick at Nite.
2. The Munsters

Answer: Fred Gwynne

The show only lasted two seasons, but it left a big impression with me, as it was probably my favorite show as a young boy. Gwynne stared as Herman Munster, a Frankenstein-like figure who lives with his bizarre family in an everyday American town.
3. Seinfeld

Answer: Jason Alexander

One of the most popular shows on the 1990s, "Seinfeld" ran for 9 seasons and had 180 episodes. Jason Alexander starred as George Costanza, who is Jerry Seinfeld's best friend. I think I've seen nearly every episode at least 5 times each.
4. Dragnet

Answer: Jack Webb

Jack Webb starred as Sergeant Joe Friday who worked for the LAPD. The series ran from 1951-59. Jack Webb was a big Babe Ruth fan, and his badge number was 714, which was a homage to Ruth's career total of 714 home runs.
5. The Jeffersons

Answer: Sherman Hemsley

Hemsley starred as George Jefferson, a dry cleaner who lived with his wife Louise in New York City. It was a spin-off of "All in the Family", and ran for 253 episodes from 1975-85.
6. Married... with Children

Answer: Ed O'Neill

O'Neill stars as Al Bundy, a middle-aged man who works as a shoe salesman with his wife, Peggy, and their two children. Bundy often reminisces about his high school days, including the many times he mentions the football game in which he scored 4 touchdowns. It is one of the funniest sitcoms I've watched.
7. Sanford and Son

Answer: Redd Foxx

Foxx stars as Fred Sanford, who operates a junkyard with his son, Lamont. It ran from 1972-77 with 136 episodes. Sanford often feigned heart attacks in the show, and coincidentally, Foxx died of one in 1991.
8. The Wonder Years

Answer: Fred Savage

This show focused on the life of Kevin Arnold played by Savage who grew up in the late 1960s and early 1970s. I remember loving this show, but I haven't seen it in years. The series ran from 1988-1993.
9. Monk

Answer: Tony Shalhoub

Shalhoub starred as Adrian Monk, a former detective for the San Francisco PD who works as a consultant after his wife was killed by a car bomb. He is highly insightful and intuitive but has severe OCD and many phobias. It ran from 2002-2009.
10. In the Heat of the Night

Answer: Carroll O'Connor

O'Connor, who had previously played Archie Bunker in "All in the Family," plays Chief of Police Bill Gillespie in this cop-drama series. Unlike the role he played as Bunker as a bigoted man, Gillespie seems to be much of a contrast, as a more tolerant, and fair man. The series ran from 1988-1995.
