Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "The Freshman", a disoriented Buffy drops psychology books on someone's head. Who is it?

Answer: Riley

This would be the first encounter for the love-bound couple.
2. In "Living Conditions" Buffy gets into an all-out fight with her roommate, Kathy. What does Buffy discover about Kathy?

Answer: That she is a demon who has been trying to suck out Buffy's soul.

Buffy had been having dreams of a demon feeding her animal blood and slowly sucking out her soul, and was sure that it was prophetic. As it turns out, it was Kathy all along.
3. In "The Harsh Light of Day", Willow encounters an old classmate who has 'changed' drastically. Who is it?

Answer: Harmony: She is now a vampire.

Harmony is living with Spike, whom she loves but he does not love her back. He has returned to Sunnydale to kill Buffy, but Harmony has other plans.
4. The Gang head to a Halloween party, but discover that the house is empty, except for the haunting presence that is watching them. What is it?

Answer: A fear demon.

Gachnar, the puny fear-feeding demon, was summoned unknowingly by a painted symbol on the floor in the attic of the haunted house. It was triggered by a drop of Oz's blood, and defeated by a stomping of Buffy's foot!
5. In "Beer Bad", a bunch of UCS students, including Buffy, turn into what upon ingesting large amounts of beer?

Answer: Neanderthals

"Black Frost" beer was concocted by the owner of the pub in which Xander was employed. The effects of it were not only intoxicating, it turned its drinkers into cave men!
6. In "Wild At Heart", Oz discovers another werewolf is living on campus. Who is it?

Answer: Veruca

Veruca has it out for Willow, and is set on making Oz her "pet". After Veruca attacks Willow, Oz comes to the rescue and "turns" in time to kill Veruca.
7. In "The Initiative", Spike is captured by the soldiers and detained in a white cubicle of sorts. What have they done to him?

Answer: Put a chip in his head disabling him to hurt humans.

Spike did indeed escape, and turned up at Buffy and Willow's dorm room only to find Willow sitting there, alone. He proceeds to attack her, only to feel a searing pain in his brain.
8. The gang are faced with an unwanted visitor in "Pangs". How is he defeated?

Answer: With a stabbing of his own dagger.

All Buffy wanted was a perfect Thanksgiving, but when she is visited by the spirit (a very real one, at that!) of a Chumash Indian from long ago, she is forced to combat him and his army.
9. Willow does a spell in "Something Blue" which, unbeknownst to her, makes nearly everything she says come true. What DOESN'T happen?

Answer: Oz comes back for his guitar, only to break her heart again by leaving.

Oz doesn't come back in this episode. Willow momentarily brings Amy back from being a rat, in this episode as well!
10. In "Hush", everyone in Sunnydale loses his voice. What do 'The Gentlemen' want from them, and how are they defeated?

Answer: Seven hearts; Buffy's scream.

Buffy and Riley meet each other's alter egos for the first time in this episode. Buffy, as well as the rest of Sunnydale, get their voices back when Riley smashes the box in which the voices are stored.
11. In "Doomed", what does Spike realise about himself?

Answer: He can hurt and kill demons.

Though Spike's chip disables him to hurt humans, he can successfully do away with demons and declares that he is back.
12. In "The New Man", how many 'hostiles' has Riley slain?

Answer: Seventeen.

He is taken aback by the countless amount that Buffy has slain. She has, of course, been doing it since she was fifteen.
13. In "The I In Team", what does Spike use as an anesthetic during his operation?

Answer: Alcohol.

Spike was shot in the back by the Initiative's soldiers. He had a tracer in his back, which Giles had to promptly remove.
14. In "Goodbye Iowa", an experiment is loose in Sunnydale: It's Adam. He has killed Mrs. Walsh, using:

Answer: A long spike that comes out of his wrist.

The soldiers think that it was Buffy who had killed Mrs. Walsh, and from then on, Forrest and Riley are on hostile ground with each other.
15. When Faith awakes in "This Year's Girl", she encounters a young woman in the hospital corridor. When asked what the date was, what does she say?

Answer: "Friday, February 25."

Faith, enraged, goes to the UCS campus to find Buffy and fights ensue.
16. What terrible news does Buffy learn when she is switched back into her own body after the Faith vs. Buffy duel in "Who Are You"?

Answer: Riley slept with Faith, while she was in Buffy's body.

Buffy is deeply disturbed by this, despite Riley's re-assurance, "I slept with you."
17. In "Superstar", Jonathan does a spell that would make him 'cool' by everyone's standards. What was the catch?

Answer: He had to create a demon that was equally evil.

In the end, the creature was defeated, and Jonathan was changed back to his old self. He returned friendless, and alone.
18. What is the name of the café in which Giles performs in "Where the Wild Things Are"?

Answer: The Espresso Pump

The Scooby Gang need Giles' help to find out what is going on at the party in the Lowell House. As it turns out, there are poltergeists of the tortured souls of the children who lived there.
19. In "New Moon Rising", Oz returns after being 'cured' of his werewolf changes. He is now able to control it, but what suddenly sets him off?

Answer: The scent of Willow on Tara.

Oz returns to many changes at the UCS. Willow now has a girlfriend, and Oz is deeply hurt by this. It causes him to change into a werewolf, and he is later captured by the Initiative.
20. In "The Yoko Factor", Willow and Tara get a new kitty. What does Willow name it?

Answer: Miss Kitty Fantastico

Willow and Tara are discussing what electives Willow will be taking next semester, and Willow is unsure about living with buffy as she is pre-occupied with Riley.
21. When Buffy and Adam face each other for their final battle in "Primeval", Adam shoots at her. What does Buffy do?

Answer: Puts up a protective shield, and turns the bullets into doves.

Xander, Willow and Giles do a spell to make Buffy stronger in her defeat of Adam. As a result she is able to do this to the bullets. In the end, she pulls out Adam's power source from his chest and return to normal.
22. In "Restless", the Gang (minus Anya) fall asleep in Buffy's house. They all have odd dreams in which they are attacked by whom/what?

Answer: The first Slayer.

The Cheese Guy has no real meaning in these dreams. Giles tells (after waking up), that they may have caused the first Slayer to attack them after their invocation in "Primeval".
23. In "Restless", what is the name that Buffy is called repeatedly in her dream?

Answer: "Killer".

Buffy is haunted by her dreams. Upon returning to her room she hears Tara's voice again, "You think you know. What's to come. What you are. You haven't even begun."
24. Why does Oz move away in "Wild At Heart"?

Answer: He needs to be able to control the wolf. Until he can, he has to leave.

By moving away, Oz hurt Willow more than he knew possible. It was a very dramatic episode, and one of my favourites to date!
25. In "Something Blue", what program is Spike anxious about watching?

Answer: "Passions".

He is angered that he is tied up, as he can't turn the TV on to watch his beloved soap.
