Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 1 in Iceland, how many teams completed the 'Ice Search' Detour task?

Answer: Three

Upon arriving at Glacier Ice Beach in Iceland, teams found their first Detour task of the race, a choice between 'Ice Climb' and 'Ice Search'. In 'Ice Climb', teams drove thirty-five miles through the countryside to a glacier where both team members would need to climb an ice wall to receive their clue.

In 'Ice Search', teams traveled a much shorter distance to a beach where they would need to choose a marked boat and search a seven square mile region for a single buoy containing their clue. Avi and Joe, Gus and Hera, and Jonathan and Victoria completed the 'Ice Search' task while the others finished 'Ice Climb'.

After this task, teams went to the Pit Stop, the Blue Lagoon.
2. If teams chose the 'Accuracy' Detour task in Leg 2, how many accuracy games did they need to complete?

Answer: Three

Departing from a quick viking race (in boats across a lake) teams proceeded to the town of Voss (a fairly long train ride away) and found their Detour task for this leg of the race, a choice between 'Endurance' and 'Accuracy'. In 'Endurance', teams needed to don rollerskis and ride 1 3/4 miles through Voss to receive their next clue.

In 'Accuracy', teams needed to partake in three Viking accuracy-based challenges: a game of Kubbs, axe-throwing, and archery. While Hayden and Aaron, Lori and Bolo, Lena and Kristy, and Adam and Rebecca fought to keep their balance in 'Endurance', the remaining teams completed 'Archery' before heading to the Pit Stop, Nesheimstunet Farm.
3. In Leg 3, teams completed their Detour task in what large department store?

Answer: IKEA

Heading to Sweden in Leg 3, teams made their way to a nearby Stockholm neighbourhood to find the world's largest IKEA store. When it opened, teams found their Detour clue inside, a choice between 'Count It' and Build It'. In 'Count It', teams needed to choose three marked bins and count every pot, pan, and stuffed animal inside, add them up, and present the number (a total of 2304 objects) to an IKEA worker to receive their next clue.

In 'Build It', teams simply needed to construct an IKEA desk as per the instructions using all items given. Upon completion, teams received the clue. Freddy and Kendra, Lena and Kristy, and Adam and Rebecca completed 'Count It' while everyone else finished 'Build It'.

After the Detour, teams traveled by train to Haggvik, Sweden.

The choice was between 'Catapult Crash' in which teams fired a watermelon from a catapult to hit a crate and break it open to receive their clue, and 'Cannonball Run' in which teams lugged a cannon and 55 cannonballs up a hill. All the teams completed 'Cannonball Run'.

In the second half of the leg in Budapest, teams were given a choice between 'Swim' and 'Paddle'.

In 'Swim', teams needed to hop into a pool and score a goal against a Hungarian water polo player. In 'Paddle', teams inflated a raft and paddled it across the Danube to claim their clue. Only Gus and Hera chose the latter.

After the Road Block, teams were told to travel to Gundel Restaurant for a Road Block task.
