1. What is the name of the ship the TARDIS lands on?

Answer: SS Bernice

The SS Bernice is a small cargo ship traveling across the Indian Ocean. When the Doctor discovers that the ship is the SS Bernice and the date is the 4 June 1926 he realises that things may not be as they seem as that day, according to history, the ship vanished.
2. What is the cliff hanger at the end of the first episode?

Answer: A giant hand suddenly emerges from the ceiling and takes the TARDIS away.

Vorg moves the TARDIS as it is affecting the Scopes operation.
3. The Doctor and Jo discover a hexagonal metallic hatch in the floor of the ship, but can anybody else see it?

Answer: No

On opening the hatch, the Doctor and Jo descend into the workings of a giant machine.

When Pletrac, a member of the tribunal on Inter Minor realises that the Scope contains living beings he decides that the machine must be destroyed. He orders some functionaries to bring and operate an eradicator but this fails do destroy it.

Answer: Drashigs

The Drashigs are carnivorous giant caterpillar-like creatures that hunt by smell.

Answer: Vorg puts his hand into the Scope to distract the creatures allowing the Doctor and Jo to return to the machine.

Doctor and Jo return to the ship to get some rope to enable them to reach the base of the Scope and get out of it.

Answer: They return to their normal size.

The Scope contains miniaturized life forms which are kept small by its force field. Once something leaves the Scopes influence it grows back to its original size.

Kalik sees an opportunity to take control from Zarb using the Drashigs to gain power for himself.
9. Who played the part of Lieutenant John Andrews?

Answer: Ian Marter

Ian Marter would later play the fourth Doctor's companion Harry Sullivan. He also novelized many 'Doctor Who' stories including 'The Invasion' and 'The Sontaran Experiment'.

Answer: No
