Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In this episode the Maximals were planning to set up a series of survey posts to detect Predacon energy signatures. While Optimus was out surveying locations, he saw something that caused him to postpone the mission. What was this?

Answer: A heavy storm was approaching

The episode opened up with Optimus watching a mountain as it was struck by lighting and was somehow disintegrated, revealing a large amount of Energon. He tried to radio in to call off the mission, but the heavy storm was too strong, and interfering with communications. The revealed Energon was coincidental, and did not seem to affect Optimus' decision.
2. While Optimus was out surveying, the rest of the Maximals were on board the Axalon (the Maximal base) preparing for the mission. What was Cheetor building when Optimus returned?

Answer: A Bomb

While the main mission, which was to plant the sensor relays, there was actually another mission in the planning stages alongside it. The other mission was to destroy the Darkside (the Predacon base) to gain a tactical advantage. Dinobot was in favor of sending the bomb to annihilate the Predacons outright, but Optimus was convinced that they did not have to kill the Predacons to win the Beast Wars.

Cheetor was working on the bomb when Optimus returned and accidentally fritzed it. Dinobot, in a rage, grabbed Cheetor and knocked over the bomb, which rolled off the Axalon's exit hatch. Optimus arrived in time to catch the bomb and break up the commotion. He explained the situation, and that the mission was off. Cheetor tried to tell Optimus that he could outrun any storm (which would have hit in an hour), but Optimus refused to let Cheetor go.
3. Despite that Optimus had called off the mission, Cheetor believed he could still do it, but a stubborn Optimus refused to let Cheetor go. Who guiled Cheetor into attempting to complete the mission anyway?

Answer: Dinobot

Dinobot went to see Cheetor, who was sulking in his room, expressed his faith in Cheetor's abilities, and convinced him to secretly sneak out of the base to complete the mission against Optimus' orders. Dinobot, being the only one on the Axalon knowing the truth about Cheetor, manipulated events to his liking.
4. While Cheetor was out placing sensor relays, he accidentally damaged one. How?

Answer: He planted it in buried Energon

As Cheetor was out setting relay posts, the storm was building up. Just as he was about to set one post in particular, lighting struck and he dropped it. It struck the ground, which turned out to conceal Energon. Rhinox had warned that the positioning of the relays had to carefully calculated to accommodate Energon, which was an unknown factor.

The relay became charged, making it difficult for Cheetor to get a hold of it. Eventually, as Cheetor tried in vain to remove the relay, a bolt of lighting struck.

The sensor relay, the Energon, and the lighting all combined to create a transport between the Axalon and the Darkside.
5. With help from the damaged relay, Cheetor accidentally created a transporter between the Darkside's (the Predacon base) and the Axalon's respective com stations. When the transporter was created, Cheetor was inadvertently warped to the Darkside. Why could he not Maximize when he got there?

Answer: He was already in robot mode

When Cheetor arrived in the Predacon base, Terrorsaur was there to greet him, and instantly transformed. Cheetor instinctively tried to transform as well, but realized he was already in robot mode, and went about defending himself against Terrorsaur.
6. One Predacon was warped back to the Axalon also. Who was this?

Answer: Terrorsaur

Cheetor and Terrorsaur flew around the Predacon command area for a few brief moments before Terrorsaur stumbled onto the com station, which warped him to the Axalon. There, he met Dinobot, and the two, in light of the new discovery, made an alliance. Dinobot extracted all the information from Terrorsaur on how to use the transporter and then ejected him from the Axalon.
7. Which two Predacons chased Cheetor around the Darkside?

Answer: Scorponok and Waspinator

After dealing with Terrorsaur, Cheetor had to fight both Scorponok and Waspinator. Cheetor eventually escaped into the vents, but was still pursued on the outside by Waspinator and his grenade launcher, and Scorponok with his missiles. The two explosive weapons eventually hit each other, causing enough of a distraction for Cheetor to get away.
8. While Cheetor was in the Predacon base, he decided to "just roll" with his situation. He hacked a Predacon computer and searched for what?

Answer: Surrounding Energon Deposits

Upon searching the surrounding Energon deposits, Cheetor found that the same vein of Energon ran underneath both bases. Any attempt to destroy one base, and the other would also be destroyed in a chain reaction. He just had enough time to make a copy of the files before Scorponok and Waspinator found him again. Using his cat-like skills, Cheetor managed to get one of Scorponok's homing missiles to strike both himself and Waspinator.
9. Optimus learned that Cheetor had run off, and Dinobot explained the transporter to him. Dinobot convinced Optimus that Cheetor was surely destroyed, and that they should use the transporter while it was functioning to strike back at the Predacons. Optimus agreed to send the bomb through the transporter with a short timer on it. How was the bomb diffused?

Answer: It wasn't diffused

As Cheetor sent back the files on the Energon deposits, the Maximals sent the bomb to the Predacon base. Optimus made Dinobot put a countdown on the bomb to ensure that the Predacons would have time to evacuate the Darkside. Dinobot set a timer for thirty seconds, not wanting to give the Predacons anytime to think about disarming it.

Cheetor was captured, just as the bomb arrived, by Terrorsaur and Megatron. Cheetor said he couldn't disarm the bomb in time, but he could remove the anchors that held it in place. Megatron allowed it, and Cheetor quickly removed the anchors and threw the bomb up to Terrorsaur, who flew it out the roof hatch. Terrorsaur was badly damaged due to his proximity to the bomb, but the Darkside was not harmed.
10. Cheetor finally escaped the Darkside (Predacon base) through the transporter. Why couldn't the Predacons use it after he left?

Answer: Cheetor shattered all the sensor relays on his trip

For some reason, when Cheetor made his return trip to the Axalon, he shattered all the relays (whether it was intentional or not, no one knows). Also, as Cheetor ran from the Predacon base, Megatron shot at him, and hit the com station instead, destroying the Predacon end of the transporter.

The Maximals were generally happy an appreciative of the data Cheetor found, and for his safe return. Optimus still berated Cheetor for disobeying orders, and Cheetor promised not to do it again... Until next time.
