Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Most of this episode revolves around the events occurring at which location?

Answer: Standing Stones

The Standing Stones look very similar to Stonehenge, although it's more complete. The transformers saw the stones in the second episode, but had no time to investigate. There was also a large pile of rocks at the center of the structure that got blown up in the opening battle.

The Standing Stones were the first indication that there was a third party in the Beast Wars. Rhinox also commented that the Energon on the planet did not match its geology, another reason to suspect that Earth had been tampered with.
2. At the center of the battlefield, during the opening engagement, was a large pile of stones covering an Energon crystal. During the opening battle, who destabilized the crystal?

Answer: Terrorsaur

Rattrap and Cheetor took out Scorponok and Tarantulas respectively, while Optimus took on the fliers. Optimus was able to hit Waspinator, bit Terrorsaur dodged that attack. Instead of continuing to attack Optimus, Terrorsaur shot the pile of stones, blowing them up and destabilizing the crystal. Megatron was not too pleased with the result, but couldn't do anything to correct the situation, so he called for a hasty retreat.
3. After the crystal was destabilized, it sent a signal out into space. The crystal was useless at that point, so both teams retreated for the time being. Eventually, an alien probe landed at the sight of the crystal, and both the Maximals and Predacons sent members to secure the landing site. The Maximals sent Optimus and Dinobot, while the Predacons sent Megatron and who else?

Answer: Waspinator, the cannon fodder

When Megatron saw the descending probe, he thought it was a stasis pod and called for a flier. Waspinator answered the call, and the two made their way to secure the site. It was Waspinator who snuck up on Optimus and disabled him.
4. At the landing site, the Maximals and Predacons met, but before too many shots could be exchanged, the probe emitted a burst that disabled the robots. The probe then took Optimus and who else for study?

Answer: No one

The probe first emitted a wave that put all the transformers in the area in extreme pain, and then fired a burst at Optimus and absorbed him. With the Maximals down one member, the Predacons outnumbered them and organized an attack to take advantage of the situation while the the Maximals were squabbling amongst themselves as a result of their leader's disappearance.
5. Who brought the other damaged bodies back to their respective bases?

Answer: No one knows

Waspinator and Megatron were returned to the Predacon base, and Dinobot was dropped in front of the Axalon's command hatch. All three robots were badly damaged and unconscious, and no other member of either team had returned them, nor knew who had.
6. After the incident at the probe, Dinobot was knocked out and returned to the Axalon. He woke up in the Maximal CR Chamber thinking it was what?

Answer: A torture chamber

After the initial terror had passed, Dinobot remembered that he was on the Maximal team. Rattrap also reminded him that Maximals did not have torture chambers... Though, he could get behind the idea.
7. When the Maximals need a new leader, they vote and elect a new one. The vote was between Dinobot and Rattrap. The final results, however, were tied. Apart from Rattrap, who else voted for the mouse?

Answer: We don't know

Maximals vote by secret ballot, and no one has to reveal who they voted for. Rattrap was awfully upset when he found that someone would rather vote for the Predacon traitor instead of himself. The most likely person who voted for Rattrap would be Rhinox, them being pretty good friends, although Cheetor did look up to Rattrap a lot, and Rhinox's decisions were generally well calculated, and he may have been unsure of Rattrap's ability to lead. Cheetor was generally a little hotheaded, and prone to action over patience, a character trait that has been exploited by Dinobot on a number of occasions. Rhinox also gave Rattrap a friendly pat on the shoulder when Optimus told Rattrap he was in charge.

There is no way to tell who voted for who.
8. Just as Dinobot was getting ready to duel Rattrap to win the tie, the Maximals heard Optimus' voice from the com station. Though Optimus was able to communicate from the probe, he couldn't do anything (he had no body). He put Rattrap in charge and warned that the Predacons would probably attack while the Maximals were outnumbered. The Predacons did attack, and Rattrap took out a team to hold them off. Who did Rattrap order to stay inside the base?

Answer: Rhinox

Rattrap ordered Rhinox to stay inside and create a device to extract Optimus from the probe. Rhinox was somewhat frustrated with being left out of the fighting. He had a little trouble trying to assemble the device while the others were fighting and shaking the base.
9. During the Predacon attack, the Axalon's shield circuitry was damaged, and the shields were falling rapidly. Who did Rattrap order to get the shield back online?

Answer: Dinobot

During the battle, Rattrap noticed that the shield circuitry had been hit, and that the shields were falling. He ordered Dinobot, who was closest to the shield controls, to get them back online. Dinobot refused, as he was engaged in battle with Megatron. Rattrap had no choice but to make a run for it before Terrorsaur fired enough rounds to shatter the shields. Rattrap, at the last second, managed to roll and fire a shot at Terrorsaur and came up just in time to reactivate the shields, saving the Axalon, and blasting Terrorsaur away. Dinobot's insubordination was similar to Rattrap's in the first episode, when Rattrap refused to expose himself to enemy fire.

While Rattrap did not feel too bad about disobeying an order then, Dinobot felt dishonored.
10. The Maximals returned to the probe to see if they could extract their leader, but the Predacons attacked and stalled them. Eventually, while accidentally, someone did activate the probe, releasing Optimus, allowing him to save the day. Who was this?

Answer: Waspinator

The final battle at the probe included two firsts. Rhinox was trying to use his device to extract Optimus, but it was not working. Megatron ordered Waspinator to sneak up on Rhinox from behind. As Waspinator was approaching, Rhinox was contemplating how the alien stones worked, until he saw Waspinator's reflection on the probe's shiny surface. Rhinox whipped around and used his infamous chain gun for the first time in the series. Also, Waspinator got blown to scrap, with little pieces falling off, which also became one of the recurring themes of "Beast Wars".

When Waspinator was pushed back, he was pressed against the stones, and activated them, causing the probe to open and release Optimus, who made short work of the Predacons. The probe then vanished before the Maximals had time to study it.
