Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Buffy Summers was a vampire slayer by destiny, but she worked here in season six.

Answer: Doublemeat Palace

After both the death of her mother Joyce Summers, and her own death at the end of season five, Buffy came "back" in debt. There was a whole conversation on how medical bills had eaten up Joyce's life insurance. The beneficiary of a life insurance policy does not legally have to use it pay a dead person's bills, so that was a gross misuse of money. No one in the real world knew Buffy herself had died, as the Scoobies used the Buffybot to cover up that fact. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" aired seven seasons.

In season seven, Buffy spent some time as a high school counselor. Sarah Michelle Gellar played Buffy.
2. Sam Malone, Woody Boyd, and Carla Tortelli all worked at this Boston area bar.

Answer: Cheers

Some other notable employees over the show's eleven seasons were Diane Chambers, Rebecca Howe, and Coach. Ted Danson played Sam, Woody Harrelson played Woody, and Rhea Perlman played Carla. The series "Cheers" spawned a very successful spin-off for actor Kelsey Grammer called "Frasier". It also lasted for eleven seasons.
3. Roseanne, Jackie, Nancy, and Bev started this business on the original series run of "Roseanne".

Answer: The Lanford Lunchbox

The diner was often just called The Lunchbox, but on the sign shown many times, it was officially The Lanford Lunchbox. Roseanne and Jackie had initially only wanted to partner with their friend Nancy, but needed another $10,000 from Bev in order to get approved for a loan for the rest of the money. Working with Bev was practically intolerable, and they finally had to tell her. So, to get back at her daughters for hurting her feelings, she sold her portion of the business to Roseanne's loathsome former boss, Leon Carp. Martin Mull played Leon. The show aired nine total seasons. In 2017, it was announced it would reboot with most of the original cast for an eight episode run.

It was Roseanne's son D.J. who came up with name for the diner. During the show's run, both Roseanne and Dan had started up their own business ventures in order to be their own boss.
4. On "The Facts of Life" Jo, Natalie, Tootie, and Blair all worked at this establishment owned by their housemother.

Answer: Edna's Edibles

After Edna Garrett quit her job at Eastland, she opened her own business in Peekskill, NY. It was a gourmet food shop, and I believe she also offered catering services. The girls continued to bunk with her, as her home was attached to the shop. The show lasted for nine seasons, with a rotating cast around the four main girls.

When the shop caught fire, the theme was changed after it was rebuilt to sort of a souvenir shop.
5. The perfect job for a drug addicted nurse named Jackie Peyton came working here.

Answer: All Saints' Hospital

Edie Falco gave an outstanding performance in this Showtime series called "Nurse Jackie". Jackie was a great nurse, an okay friend, a passable mother, and an awful wife. She was already an addict when the series began, and backstory provided a bit of an explanation that had to do with an initial back injury.

It took place in New York, aired seven total seasons, and went on to stream on Netflix.
6. Gabe taught a bunch of Sweathogs at this school on "Welcome Back, Kotter".

Answer: James Buchanan High School

Sweathogs was the nickname of the students he taught. It was a derogatory comment on their collective intelligence. The series aired September 1975 to May 1979 and starred Gabe Kaplan as Gabe Kotter. The school was located in Brooklyn, New York.
7. On "The Fosters", Lena Adams Foster was vice principal at this California based school.

Answer: Anchor Beach Charter School

"The Fosters" aired on ABC Family, which changed its name to Freeform in 2016. The Fosters are a family of two moms, one biological child, and several fostered and adopted children. The series has taken place in and around San Diego, and Lena's wife Stef is a police officer as far as the first two seasons depicted.

Sherri Saum played Lena and Teri Polo played Stef.
8. Addison, Pete, Naomi, Cooper, Sam, and Violet opened this "Private Practice" in Los Angeles.

Answer: Oceanside Wellness

Oceanside Wellness was changed later in the series to Seaside Wellness, but when they started their group private practice they named it Oceanside Wellness Group. The series was a spin-off from "Grey's Anatomy" for the character of Addison. It aired six seasons and sent one of its later additions, Dr. Amelia Shepherd, to Seattle to be on "Grey's Anatomy" after it ended. Amelia is the sister of Dr. Derek Shepherd. Amelia is actually another drug addicted doctor to fit into this quiz. Kate Walsh (Addison), Tim Daly (Pete), Audra McDonald (Naomi), Paul Adelstein (Cooper), Taye Diggs (Sam), and Amy Brenneman (Violet) were the original stars of the series.
9. Again, a hospital is a great place for a drug addict; this one named Dr. Gregory House. Which hospital catered to this arrogant addict?

Answer: Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital

Hugh Laurie treated viewers to eight seasons of struggle, arrogance, laughter, and brilliance on "House M.D." The fictional hospital was located in New Jersey. House had a team of younger doctors around him to help him solve hard cases, and often found himself at odds with his boss (and love interest) Dr. Lisa Cuddy.
10. In the first season, Rachel Green served her "Friends" as a waitress at this location.

Answer: Central Perk

"Friends" aired ten seasons. In that time Rachel worked at Central Perk, Ralph Lauren, and Bloomingdale's. Jennifer Aniston played Rachel. While at Central Perk, her co-worker Gunther fell in love with her, and appeared randomly in episodes throughout the seasons, even after she no longer worked there. He was even at Phoebe's wedding to Mike in season ten.
