Is Riker's "Future Imperfect"? Quiz

This quiz is on another of my favorite episodes, "Future Imperfect." Try your luck and possibly see if your future is as messed up as Riker's future seemed to be. All questions are referring to Riker's "future" unless noted otherwise.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the planet that the away team beamed to before Riker started experiencing his "future"?

Answer: Alpha Onias III

I hope you weren't fooled by the other choices. Ceti Alpha V is where Khan was marooned in "Space Seed" and "ST II: The Wrath of Khan." Boralus is the Bolian homeworld. I'm not sure that Gamma Hydra 10 even exists. Gamma Hydra Section 10 is supposed to be a sector where the Kobayashi Maru is trapped in the infamous Kobayashi Maru scenario.
2. Who is the first person that Riker sees as he wakes up in the imperfect future?

Answer: Nurse Ogawa

Nurse Ogawa was checking his vitals or checking up on him when Riker woke up. She called Dr. Crusher over when she saw he was awake. It was then that he found out he was 16 years into the future from the last point in time that he remembered. *Admiral* Picard was now working on a peace treaty that Riker helped start the process of, and Worf was on the bridge at the time manning the Ops station.
3. What was the name of the Romulan warbird that Picard commanded?

Answer: Decius

Picard was in fact on the Decius when he contacted Riker and asked to beam over to discuss the terms of the treaty before Tomalak arrived on the ship.
4. What was the name of Riker's son?

Answer: Jean-Luc

Riker chose to name his son after his favorite captain, Jean-Luc Picard. Picard had been delighted about that, and he had asked Riker about Jean-Luc when he beamed aboard.
5. What was Riker's wife's name?

Answer: Minuet

Barash, the alien that was making this future up for Riker, decided on Minuet since Riker had strong feelings for her. Little did he know that she wasn't a real person. It would have been better to pick Deanna, don't you think?
6. How long ago (in years) did Riker's wife die?

Answer: 2

Riker asked Deanna how long it had been, and she had stated that it had been two years. It came up since Riker made the observation that he could not imagine Deanna leaving the Enterprise (which makes you wonder why Barash decided to make the illusion that way).
7. During the Romulan facade, what was the reason that Riker gave the Romulans to suggest that he became aware of the "future" he was experiencing was faked?

Answer: his wife

Riker's faux wife, Minuet, was a hologram. Unfortunately, no matter how much he may have loved her during his brief meeting with her back in 2364, he could not marry her. Even if that were possible, she could not have been in his quarters during a birthday celebration for Jean-Luc (and that opens another matter entirely) since there were no holo-emitters in his quarters.

The other three choices were suspicious to Riker, but they could have been explained away in time.
8. Again during the Romulan facade, what was the boy's name that was the "template" for Riker's son, Jean-Luc, in the fake future?

Answer: Ethan

The boy that was the idea for the image of Jean-Luc in Riker's future was named Ethan, but he was also the alien Barash in disguise. Barash wanted company, so that's why he had started these "games" for Riker. He thought Riker would play the games and enjoy them.

Chris is the first name of the actor who played Jean-Luc/Ethan, but not the one who played Barash.
9. After all the facades had vanished, there remained one person besides Riker on the planet. What was this person's name?

Answer: Barash

Barash was the alien that Riker met in the cavern that they were in. Barash had been left alone when his mother was forced to leave him and sacrifice herself so their enemies would not find him. He had been alone for a long time prior to Riker's arrival.
10. What was the outpost number of which Tomalak wanted the location?

Answer: 23

Tomalak wanted the location of Outpost 23 since it was the most strategic outpost for the Federation. It also held most defense secrets for the Federation.
