Answer: A butcher knife

This episode starts with Detective Frank Spivey and his partner sitting in his car eating Chinese food. While his partner, Spacey, stays in the car, Frank gets out for a walk. As Spacey turns up the car radio, Frank walks ahead and hears a woman screaming for help.

He shouts for Spacey, but realizes he has little time. Walking up ahead, he notices a woman being pulled along by a crazy older man. Frank quickly follows behind with his gun drawn to where the man has placed the woman over a large barrel. Frank yells to him when he draws a large butcher knife, but the man doesn't back down, saying that 'he has to be finished with her' and that Frank 'doesn't know what she is'.

As the man prepares to take his swing, Frank shoots the man in the chest, causing him to drop the knife and fall back to the wall.

When Frank goes over to the man, he gasps for air and mentions the name 'Jenifer' before dying. It's hard for Frank to tell if he's made the right choice after, because Jenifer isn't exactly an example of the perfect damsel in distress...

Answer: A cut on his hand

When Frank gets back to the station, he argues with his boss that the man looked homeless and disheveled despite the fact that he wore clothes which would have been popular and in-style not long ago. As well, he iterates the fact that the man had no identification on him. Regardless, Frank's boss sends him out for a psych session as it was the first time he had fatally shot someone. One of Frank's coworkers comments on her face, and how it's sad that whatever happened to it did happen. Frank agrees with this. When he gets home, Frank pours himself a drink and tells his wife, Ruby, that he killed a man.

The have dinner later, and though his wife tells him that he did what he needed to do, he decides to be angry about it. After his wife's son comes home, Frank decides to wash a stinging cut that he got from Jenifer off in the bathroom.

That night, Ruby tries to cheer Frank up by making love to him. However, before they begin, Frank has horrible memories of earlier in the day, and he accidentally ends up hurting his wife. He decides to talk to a psychologist about the incident with Jenifer.

They say that all they really know is that her name was 'Jenifer', as it was written on a note in the crazy man's pocket. It was actually the only thing written on the paper, as if he had nothing else to say. Otherwise, Jenifer lived with the man, and the man didn't have a permanent address.

At one point, he did, however. In fact, he had a family (though they won't claim him now) and at one point, he was a well-to-do businessman. However, he lost everything. The psychologist assumes that Jenifer is mentally retarded, and she tells Frank that she's in an institution.

Answer: A morlock

Frank goes to the asylum to see Jenifer, and the clerk there mentions that Jenifer is 'the creepy one' there. He takes her to the bathroom where Jenifer is taking a shower. When Frank walks in, Jenifer gives him a hug and he finds he has no choice but to bring her home with him.
When he gets home, he finds Ruby in bed with their cat, so he doesn't disturb her. He doesn't disturb her son either. Instead, he gives her a couch to sleep on and tells her that he'll find place for her to stay the next day. He's somewhat disturbed when she takes his hand after this and licks his cut. It's at this point that her disfigured face is shown for the first time.
In the middle of the night, Jenifer wakes up to hear Frank's cat walking around the house. She hisses at it and it runs away.

That same night, Frank begins dreaming about Jenifer (only without her disfigured face). When he wakes up, he finds Jenifer undressed in his room. He gets up to help her out and realizes his wife is in the bathroom. When she gets out, she discovers that Jenifer is in the room and she screams at her. Frank quickly tries to reassure Ruby that Jenifer has no place to go and since she clearly has some problems, he just wanted to help her out. Ruby's son comes in as well to see what's wrong and he comments on Jenifer's appearance.

When Ruby tells Frank that they will not be letting Jenifer stay, Jenifer quickly grabs onto Ruby's face and kisses her, cutting her mouth in the process. Frank ends up taking Jenifer into the country the next day, confused about where to take her.

When Frank stops the car, Jenifer tries to lick his cut again. In doing this, she seduces Frank and makes love to him in the car.

When Frank returns home to Ruby with Jenifer still by his side, he tells her that it's simply too difficult, as no one will try to take her. Ruby reminds him of her hideous appearance before Jenifer runs into their house. Frank quickly follows behind before he, his wife, and son find her devouring the family cat in the bathroom. Frank yells at Jenifer while his wife and son call a taxi and leave.
That night, Frank wakes up to find Jenifer coming into his room. Once again, they spend the night together. Despite his protests, she seduces him.

The next morning, Amy is in her backyard filling a small wading pool with water and she finds Jenifer standing behind her. The girl tries to talk to Jenifer, and she is clearly not frightened by her grotesque appearance.
Frank spends the next day and night wandering the streets with a bottle of booze in his hand. He sees a poster for the circus and returns home only to find Jenifer in the basement eating Amy's corpse on the stairwell. Frank takes Jenifer into the kitchen and tries to strangle her, but he finds that he simply can't do it.
Frank ends up going to the circus and talking to one of the managers. They discuss the idea of leaving Jenifer with the traveling carnies, and Frank mentions that he doesn't want to be a part of the business deal unless it involves leaving her behind.

Answer: In the fridge

Frank goes back home to find Jenifer and after searching a fair bit of the house, he realizes that she is no longer there. Happy with the idea, he goes to the fridge and finds the body of the circus manager inside. While he screams in fear and frustration, Jenifer giddily reacts to Frank's finding of her 'gift' to him from outside the back door. Frank buries the body that night and leaves Jenifer watching from the corner of the property. The next day, Frank packs up some of his belongings and takes Jenifer into his car.

The two of them drive to the country where Frank uses an abandoned cabin as their shelter. Frank tells Jenifer that she needs to stay in the cabin with him to be safe.

Answer: At a gas station

To prevent returning to the city, Frank forces Jenifer to stay at the cabin while he gets a job at a nearby gas station. The owner of the station is hesitant to hire Frank since he's new around the area, but she gives it to him. Frank says he doesn't care about the low pay as long as he gets the job.
When he returns to the cabin, Frank finds Jenifer hiding in the corner. He tells her that he got the job before serving dinner. The next day, Frank offers to help at the store, letting the owner's son go to a bonfire with his friends. The owner, Rose, thanks Frank for all the help, and when they go out back to finish the work, Jenifer watches the two of them talking.
While Frank is talking to Rose, she asks where he's staying, and he mentions that they have a place in the woods, and that Jenifer is his sick daughter.

Answer: No

While at the bonfire, Rose's son decides to step away from the party and go to the washroom, but when he steps behind the bushes, he finds Jenifer sitting down on a log. As he approaches, she runs into the forest and he chases her halfway back to Frank's cabin. When she finally stops, she turns around and reveals her face to him. He falls to the ground and she strangles him to death.
Frank returns to the cabin after work finds a hoodie on the ground when he walks in. Taking a flashlight, he heads outside and down into the cellar of the house. Inside, he finds Jenifer eating Rose's son.
Frank decides to take Jenifer into the woods, so he ties her up and grabs an axe. He quickly ties her to a tree and prepares to take the swing at her, but he's shot in the chest by a nearby hunter.
The hunter, shocked at the scene, rushes over to help Jenifer, but Frank grabs him, muttering her name, much like the man that he killed in the city. As the hunter begins to untie Jennifer, he sees who she truly is, and she slowly begins to caress his hand, seducing him like her other men.
