Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Odie once found a magic wand that had been discarded by a disgruntled magician. What was the magician's agent's name?

Answer: Bernie

Odie wandered around the house with wand in mouth, inadvertently creating a bunch of magical occurrences, such as causing Garfield's bed to float through the air, making a camel and a tiger appear and disappear, and turning Garfield's doughnut into a frog.

The magician's rabbit eventually turned up and stole the wand away, flying off in a rocket that he magicked up. Garfield never got the chance to use the wand for personal gain. How sad.
2. After attaining fame and fortune on the "End of the Rainbow" game show, what was the TV series Roy starred on called?

Answer: Highway to Agoura

There was no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that Roy found; instead, there was a leprechaun hosting a "Let's Make a Deal"-style game show in which Roy started out with a dirty sock and could trade it for whatever was behind various curtains. Though he traded up for a car and, later, for fame and fortune, he didn't quit while he was ahead and ended up with the dirty sock.
3. What time did the episode "Home Away from Home" start at?

Answer: 4:27 PM

To avoid being any more disorganized than he already was, Jon bought himself a day planner. Unfortunately, Garfield got to it first and filled in every single appointment time with "Feed cat". Jon noticed the pattern very quickly.
4. Thomas Edison invented the light bulb so that his cat wouldn't have to do what in the dark?

Answer: Watch TV

Inspired by his cat, the Ancient Roman Jona invented the first cartoon. He was thrown in jail, though, for drawing those cartoons instead of plans for the new aqueduct. His cat, who for some reason was orange, black-striped, and fat, set him free by convincing the emperor that Jona was a master chef. Garfield aided him in the kitchen and ended up inventing lasagna.
5. Roy once built a rocket ship that ended up launching one of Orson's brothers into a toolshed. Which planet did he want to fly to?

Answer: Saturn

In the process of stealing tomatoes from the farm for the zillionth time, Orson's brother hid them in the fuel tank of the rocket. Wade's absentminded cousin, Newton, who was visiting at the time, pushed the large red button on the rocket out of curiosity. That large red button launched the rocket and smashed Orson's brother unconscious.
6. Which of these was NOT one of the movies playing at or coming soon to the cinema in "Day of Doom"?

Answer: The Lizard of Odds

When Garfield wished for Mondays to disappear forever, his wish came true! Unfortunately, this impacted his world in quite a few unpleasant ways. For instance, his local movie theater changed what film it was showing on Mondays, so the same movie ran for weeks on end. Monday was also trash pickup day in Garfield's neighborhood. Worst of all, however, Jon got paid on Mondays, which meant that he couldn't buy any food because he had no money! The horror!
7. What magazine did an extremely forward salesman attempt to force Jon to subscribe to for five years (and, later, to renew)?

Answer: Sponge Illustrated

Yes, the only magazine devoted to our friend, the sponge! Once Jon agreed to subscribe, the salesman continued to follow him everywhere, pestering him to renew his subscription for five more years. Jon never learned his lesson, though, because he agreed to renew... only to have the salesman bother him once again for another five-year subscription!
8. What was the combination of the safe that fell on Roy (the one summoned by the dancing robot)?

Answer: L17 R32 L6

After buying a Schlocko Dance-o-matic Weather Robot from a shady-looking hawk, Roy attempted to make it rain. However, the robot seemed to take any command except the one Roy wanted to give. For instance, when Roy tried to get away from the robot to find somewhere "safe", the robot brought a safe down upon him.
9. When pretending to be a realtor, what kind of shoes did Al G. Swindler wear?

Answer: Wingtips

As various repairmen, Swindler broke and poked holes in multiple parts of Jon's house until Jon agreed to sell it for two cents. Garfield was forced to "haunt" the house until Swindler sold it back to Jon for the price of the entire amount that Jon paid for his "repairs". Swindler turned back up at the end of the episode as a Ghostbuster... er, I mean Ghostchaser... but Garfield and Jon fled in terror before he could do any more damage.
10. When Wade thought he had the power to stop the rain, Roy called him "one tree short of a" what?

Answer: Hammock

Due to his fear of everything, including every type of weather imaginable (and even a few unimaginable kinds), Wade commanded the rain to stop forever. Unfortunately, the rain took his advice, and the farm experienced a horrible drought over the next few months. Wade eventually realized his mistake and took action to restart the water cycle by sprinkling silver iodide crystals on the clouds. That did the trick, and the farm was well-watered once again.
