Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Hawkeye and Trapper are exhausted, it's time for a break. The two doctors request, nay, demand a three-day pass to Tokyo and Henry acquiesces. In what hotel will the Swamp rats be holed up for their projected three days of Tokyo bliss?

Answer: Dai Ichi Hotel

Apparently, the Dai Ichi Hotel is a high quality place, with room service, real beds and 'hot and cold running maids'. Tokyo will never be the same after Hawkeye and Trapper get finished with it!
2. Before Trapper and Hawkeye can be off on their little sojourn to Japan, they discover wonderful news, according to General Clayton a cease fire has been announced. Hawkeye is so ecstatic that he makes what comment over the phone to Clayton?

Answer: I want to have your baby!

General Clayton has heard through 'CINCOMPAC' that the war will soon be over. Henry warns Hawkeye that this is just tentative, to which Hawkeye responds, 'I don't care if it's from NINCOMPOOP, the war is over!'
3. Among the dwellers of the 4077th, Trapper is the only one who is not excited, believing this cease fire to be a phony.

Answer: True

The ever-skeptical Trapper seems the only voice of reason at a M*A*S*H camp gone wild. Even Father Mulcahy gets involved in the festivities, riding in the back of a jeep that circles around the inside of camp.
4. Ho-Jon represents the local population in this episode, collecting 'souvenirs' from the M*A*S*H outfit that may quickly be shipping out. What item does Hawkeye give Ho-Jon as a memento?

Answer: Coffee kettle

This marks the final appearance of Ho-Jon, played by Patrick Adiarte, on 'M*A*S*H'. He appeared in a total of seven first season episodes. He was supposed to have left after the pilot, wherein he was given an opportunity to study in the United States, but the producers apparently wanted to keep him around for more shows.
5. Radar has the snappy idea of gathering up signatures in a scrapbook before returning to the States. Which M*A*S*H dweller signs Radar's book, accompanied by the incredibly warm message 'Compliments of a friend'?

Answer: Trapper

Naturally, Trapper unenthusiastically signs Radar's scrapbook, knowing full well that the cease fire is a phony. Hawkeye is rather more flippant, signing Radar's album with the message, 'This is the best restaurant I ever ate in. Good luck, Hawkeye.'

After seeing the messages from Trapper and Hawkeye, Radar comments, 'Boy, you guys sure know how to reach someone.'
6. Hawkeye does several thing that he will regret while the cease fire is on, including telling several nurses that he is married, so as to avoid any future commitment. How many nurses learn about Hawkeye's phony marital status?

Answer: 3

Specifically, Hawkeye tells Nancy Griffin (Lynette Mettey), Barbara Bannerman (Bonnie Jones) and Margie Cutler (Marcia Strassman) that he is married and has five kids! This would mark the last of six episodes in which Strassman appeared on 'M*A*S*H'. She would later star as Julie Kotter on the sitcom 'Welcome Back, Kotter'.
7. Though it is established many times later in the series that Hawkeye is from Crabapple Cove, Maine, in this episode, he tells Nurse Griffin that he is from what New England state?

Answer: Vermont

One of several inconsistencies during the long run of 'M*A*S*H', perhaps Hawkeye was just lying about being from Vermont to throw Nancy off?
8. In 'Cease Fire', which two characters discuss meeting each other 'for lunch' when they return to the United States?

Answer: Henry and Radar

Henry affectionately signs Radar's scrapbook, after which he announces that Radar has been like a son to him just as Radar tells him that he's been like a father. They then discuss having lunch after returning to the states.
9. After the war is officially over and she has parted from Frank, what does a drunken Margaret announce that she intends to do?

Answer: Stick her head in an oven

Margaret sadly announces that her life will be over without Frank, to the latter's protestations. Margaret then starts showering Frank with sweet nothings, including the classic, 'I love your thin little lips.'
10. Besides announcing to several nurses that he is married, what other foolish thing does Hawkeye do before he learns that the cease fire is indeed a phony?

Answer: Renounces $1500 in poker IOUs

In addition to forgiving his poker IOUs, Hawkeye also presents a slide show of General Clayton to the entire camp, with Clayton in attendance. In several of the pictures, Clayton is locking lips with Margaret! He doesn't seem too happy to see these photos.
