Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Sticky Wicket' begins in the Swamp, with the doctors doing what they do best (or perhaps second best if you count surgery), playing poker. Who sleeps during the game, cards firmly tucked hand in chest?

Answer: Ugly John

While Hawkeye, Radar and Trapper attempt to walk away with each other's money at the poker table, Ugly John pleasantly sleeps away the afternoon. His comfortable nap is disturbed however by a call for all surgical personnel in the O.R. He wakes to an ace-high flush, which Hawkeye claims was '2 hours ago'.
2. After an operating session, our friends from the 4077th enjoy a lovely meal in the charming confines of the mess tent. Radar especially loves to eat there, apparently, as his tray is stacked high and deep. Hawkeye and Trapper suggest that lots of food hides all but which of these tendencies?

Answer: Anguish

Poor Radar, who is just a growing lad, is irritated by Hawkeye and Trapper's attempts at Freudian analysis. Trapper takes it one step further by suggesting the following: 'Why don't we get him to eat North Korea?'
3. Hawkeye gives Frank a good verbal thrashing in the mess tent, emphasizing the latter's incompetence in the operating room. Margaret is so upset that she insists on discipline for Hawkeye. She forces Radar to wake Henry from his nap in order to discuss the situation with him. What type of shot does Henry recommend for Margaret?

Answer: Distemper

Henry is irked. He speculates that his wife is operating Margaret by remote control. He then instructs Radar, 'You go right to Major Houlihan, you set your jaw firmly, you look into those cool, killer eyes of hers and you tell her I'll be right there.'
4. After being hassled by Hot Lips, Henry summons Hawkeye. An annoyed Hawkeye refuses to apologize to Frank. What insulting nickname does he have for Frank here?

Answer: Old Butterfingers

Despite threats by Hot Lips to go over Henry's head (as usual) to General Clayton, Hawkeye refuses to apologize to Frank. Hawkeye thinks that Frank is a menace, and he doesn't care who knows, even if it's the whole camp.
5. Hawkeye seems to be having a particularly difficult situation with a patient named Private Thompson. Though Thompson's surgery appeared to be successful, he is suffering from several very concerning symptoms. What particular part of his body was operated on by Hawkeye?

Answer: Iliac artery

Thompson is suffering from a fever, abdominal pain, high urinary output among other symptoms. This is unusual and suggest the possibility that Hawkeye might have missed something. He prescribes an IV of penicillin in the hopes that the patient is simply suffering from a post-operatic infection.
6. In the mess tent once again, Hawkeye continues to worry about his patient, much to the glee of Frank who rubs it in. It soon comes to blows, with Hawkeye physically confronting old Ferret Face. What character has his face planted in mashed potatoes not once, but twice during this melee?

Answer: Radar

Frank taunts Hawkeye, calling him 'super surgeon'. The last straw comes when Frank says, 'Well, at least I didn't kill someone today.' Radar suffers most in the ensuing ruckus, getting a closer look at his mashed potatoes than he expected.
7. Radar once again wakes Henry, much to the latter's chagrin. Henry, believing he is being awakened by his wife, refers to her by her first name. What name does he use here?

Answer: Mildred

Apparently someone really loved the name Mildred among the show's creators, as this was Henry's wife's original name before she became Lorraine. Mildred eventually became the name of Colonel Potter's wife.
8. So distracted by the problems he is having with Private Thompson, Hawkeye has moved out of the Swamp. He does not find peace in his new tent, however. Who is the first person to disturb him in his new refuge?

Answer: Nurse Bannerman

Hawkeye's thoughts are interrupted by Nurse Bannerman, followed by Trapper, two guys with a kitchen sink, Henry and finally, Radar.
9. Which person has perhaps the best line in this episode, claiming that a sulking Hawkeye hasn't the luxury to play 'Dr. Perfect in this G.I. butcher shop'?

Answer: Henry

In one of his best scenes, Henry lectures Hawkeye about his selfishness. Henry asks Hawkeye if he's more dedicated to saving lives or boosting his own ego. Hawkeye is impressed enough to suggest that Henry is not as dumb as he thought. Henry responds by indicating that Hawkeye is disgusting when he's trying to be nice.
10. Hawkeye finally has an epiphany about his sick patient and gathers the medical staff in the O.R. to perform a follow-up surgery on Thompson. Sure enough, he finds a loose piece of shrapnel lodged in which of Thompson's internal organs?

Answer: Colon

Specifically, the shrapnel was lodged in the sigmoid colon. Hawkeye is so pleased that he even compliments Margaret, saying, 'You're beautiful when you sweat.' What a charmer!
