Oscar thought it would be a good idea to have an anniversary party before he leaves the apartment, and he consults Buster. Buster says that it might be a good way for Lucille to realize that Oscar was always there for the family, and Oscar sees it as a way to stay in that apartment.

Gob had used Franklin years earlier at a different family gathering, and after he used the puppet to kiss Lucille, George Sr. tried to beat it up. Lucille says that she doesn't want him around to ruin the day with another puppet show. Franklin is no up in the attic with George Sr.

George Michael asks Lindsay if Michael would have kept the engagement ring around, and she says that he definitely would have. In fact, Lindsay has been wearing it on her middle toe. George Michael plans to use it as a pre-engagement ring for Ann.

When Ann introduces Terry, she introduces him as Pastor Terry Veal. Although Michael doesn't like the idea of a pre-engagement at George Michael's age, the Veals intend to celebrate it with a bottle of apple cider. They too were serious at a young age.

When Gob goes looking for Franklin, George Sr. comes out of hiding and they discuss the anniversary party. George Sr. wants to take Lucille to a church so that they can renew their wedding vows. In order to prevent any suspicion, Maeby has all of her work sent to Lucille's apartment, then she goes to the gate and pretends to be a little girl to get the mail. There is no possible way that the work could be mailed to the yacht because Gob sunk the yacht in season 1.

In order to get Lucille to the church, George Sr. has Gob put some ether onto Franklin's mouth and have Gob make Franklin 'kiss' Lucille. When he does this, Buster walks in with Lucille's rape horn and Gob gives him the ether too. After all of this is done, Gob accidentally inhales some of the ether as well and George Sr. is forced to do all of the work on his own.

Buster and Oscar manage to find a pamphlet for the church that everyone is heading to and everyone manages to arrive (although Tobias drove on the wrong side of the road most of the time). Lucille and George Sr. arrive first in Gob's limo and begin to renew their vows.

After watching the renewal of vows between George Sr. and Lucille, Ann leaves the church and George Michael and Lindsay arrive in the stair-car. When George Michael proposes, Ann says that she wants to get married that minute and literally pulls him into the church. Michael and the gang from Tobias' British car arrive next and stop George Michael.

Unfortunately, Pastor Terry finds out that his wife was kissing Michael and they fight. Oscar and Buster arrive next and Oscar fights George Sr. for Lucille's love. Buster called the police, but they were delayed when they assumed that Franklin was a kidnapping suspect.

After the fight, George Sr. manages to sneak away, steal Tobias' wig and escape. The Veal parents reunite, and George Michael and Ann decide not to get married.
