Raj's and Amy's moms have only appeared via Skype in the first nine season, but we did see them. Bernadette's mom appears in an episode where Howard has dinner with Bernadette and her parents. Howard's mom in the first eight seasons was heard more than the other moms, but she was never seen.

Sheldon is nothing like his mom. He took after his father and grandfather, who are both dead. Sheldon's mom isn't a genius in the pure sense, but she is very wise. She can control Sheldon, which most people can't do, but she is also very loving. She helps Sheldon feel better and at times has also been known to help Raj and Leonard feel better. She had Sheldon tested for insanity when he was a child. The doctor said he was fine, as Sheldon also said many times. However, Sheldon's mom does wish she had followed up with the specialist in Houston.

Penny's family came to her second wedding ceremony (the first one was a private one in Las Vegas). She is furious that her family is an embarrassment, with her son just getting out of jail and her father being a drunk. When the best kid in your family is Penny, you've failed as a parent.

Answer: Amy

Amy's mom made a deal with her that Amy must date once a year in exchange for her mom being silent about it. Amy gets a boyfriend in Sheldon, but he never meets the family so they don't believe he exists. Therefore Amy calls her mom on skype to show Sheldon to her. Amy's mom is happy to meet Sheldon, until he tells her that he and Amy have sex every night. Amy's mom does not find out that he is lying.

This is the only time before season ten that Amy's mom ever appeared on the show.

Answer: Bernadette

Bernadette's mom was concerned that her husband and her son-in-law weren't getting along, so she told her husband to take him on a fishing trip. He initially agrees to do so, but on the day of the trip, Howard reveals that he really doesn't know how to fish. Bernadette's father admits that he doesn't want to go on the fishing trip either, so instead they go to the casino and gamble together.

Answer: Leonard

Leonard's mom amusingly is a lot like Sheldon. They are both geniuses with analytical minds, OCD tendencies like having a special spot (Sheldon's spot on the couch and Leonard's mom's middle stall in the bathroom), and apathy to social sciences and arts.

In season seven, Penny takes a psychology class and reads a book called "The Disappointing Child" by Leonard's mom. Penny loves the book, and gets an A in the class since she knows everything about Leonard. Leonard hates that Penny loves a book that degrades him. He uses this as an opportunity to tell lies about his mother to Penny for pity sex. But then Leonard tells Howard about this, and then Howard tries it with Bernadette. Bernadette doesn't buy it and asks Howard what he is doing. Howard tells Bernadette about what Leonard does with Penny. Bernadette then informs Penny, who then tricks Leonard into getting naked in front of his mother and then denies him sex.

Howard's mom died in season eight because her voice actress, Carol Ann Susi, died. The writers of the show wisely decided not to replace her, since nobody can do the voice like Carol Ann Susi. (Melissa Rauch does a superb job but she shouldn't be doing it all the time.) At Leonard and Penny's wedding in the season nine premiere, some of the wedding planners are heard shouting off-screen as a tribute to her.

Raj, being the rich one in the group, plans on hosting a big Christmas party. But then, he learns that his mother divorced his father. So, Amy hosts the Christmas party and Raj's father comes to Raj to be consoled. But then Raj has to go to the university to help get rid of a pigeon that had flown into the lab that Howard and Leonard were working in.

Answer: Bernadette

When Bernadette gets pregnant, she becomes wary of the idea of having kids since she doesn't like them. Her father told her that raising kids was the best thing he ever did in his life. Bernadette responded by saying her mother was the one who raised them and her father just drank and watched TV in the rare occasions that he was home. Her father does not dispute this.

Sheldon and Howard are wrong answers, because while those moms did raise kids all by themselves, because their fathers weren't physically available.

Both Sheldon's mom and Leonard's father are invited to Leonard and Penny's second wedding. With Sheldon's mom widowed and Leonard's father divorced, they find a connection. They aren't very alike, with one being a Christian who believes in creationism not science and the other being an atheist scientist.

However, unlike Leonard's mother, whom Sheldon's mom has feuded with in the past, Leonard's father has an open mind about religion, so they get along quite well.
