Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After finding Bob and making peace with the web-riders, the captain and crew of the "Saucy Mare" began a party in their honor. Bob, Captain Capacitor and Ray Tracer all made toasts. Which of the following was not one of the people, or groups of people who were toasted to at the party?

Answer: The guardians

While everyone partied, Bob raised a glass and hit it with a spoon, indicating that he wanted to make a toast. In dial-up, he toasted to the captain and crew of the "Saucy Mare". Captain Capacitor followed him by toasting to the web-riders, "the ugliest bunch of merciless blaggards [he] ever had the pleasure of sailing with". Ray Tracer then toasted Matrix and AndrAIa for the simple reason that they were the ones who brought everyone together.
2. Matrix went downstairs and enjoyed the party without any mishaps.

Answer: False

Matrix was told by AndrAIa to join the party, because he really wanted to talk to Bob. Matrix was too uncertain of himself to do it, though. Meanwhile, at the party, Ray Tracer ingested one of the web-rider's meal worms. After eating it, he was seen as an honorable sprite by the riders.

Afterwards, the web-rider's leader slapped Tracer on the back and accidentally sent him flying across the room. Matrix entered right when that happened, and thought that the riders were hostile. He raised his gun and pointed it at the riders. Bob told Matrix to put down his gun. Matrix, ashamed by his reaction, left the party. AndrAIa signaled to Bob to go upstairs and talk to Matrix.
3. Approaching the tear to Mainframe, the "Saucy Mare" were caught in an energy trap engineered by Mouse. How did the "Saucy Mare" make it past Mouse's first trap?

Answer: By using the ship's sails. The energy bursts pushed them to the tear.

The energy bursts were overloading the ship so Capacitor made the decision to power the entire thing down. As they wondered how to get past the trap, Tracer suggested that they somehow utilize the power of the storm to their advantage. Capacitor then ordered the sails to go up.

The last energy burst shot right at the sails and propelled the ship closer to the tear. Although the sails were defragmented after the burst, the ship was out of the energy trap.
4. After getting past Mouse's energy trap, the entire ship was burned out and overloaded. Looking at the ship's schematics, Bob tried to see what he could do to help. He needed some illumination to see and he was surprised when a nice bright light appeared above him. What was the light made by?

Answer: A pixel

As Bob looked on at the schematics and asked for the light, he was surprised when he got one so fast. He realized it was a pixel when it descended and ate away the schematics. In fact, the entire ship was slowly being eaten apart by millions of tiny pixels. Luckily, they had ways to beat the little creatures.
5. Realizing that the dangerous creatures eating the ship could not be defeated inside, Bob told the web-riders to take the fight outside. How did the web-riders drive away most of the ship-eating creatures?

Answer: By using lights with special frequencies, attached to their guns.

After Matrix opened the hatch to the Web, the leader of the web-riders told Matrix that he was honorable and that he still had hope. Ray Tracer and the web-riders then set their sights on the pixels. The riders used special lights attached to their guns, or their special flying crafts, to drive away the pixels. Ray Tracer used his special powers to drive them away, as well.
6. Getting ready to stabilize the tear to Mainframe, another of Mouse's traps took hold of the "Saucy Mare". Ray Tracer and all of the web-riders were blocked off by some special shield and could not follow the ship. Why was that so bad?

Answer: Ray was the only one who could open a portal and without him, the ship would be stuck in the Web.

Prior to the trap, Bob was commenting on how easy everything was to that point. No sooner than he said that, the ship was trapped in Mouse's web. The riders and Tracer were blocked out by a shield on the other side. The worst part was that with Glitch and the portal generator on the ship damaged, Ray was the only one with tear-stabilizing abilities, and Ray was gone.
7. Why did Mouse's trap attack the "Saucy Mare"?

Answer: Because it had dead web-creatures around it, and the trap was designed to keep anything from the Web out of Mainframe.

AndrAIa suggested that Mouse's trap was made to keep the Web out of Mainframe, so she had no idea why the trap would not let the ship through to Mainframe. Matrix suggested that they should use brute force and plow through the trap and gun it towards the tear. Bob told Matrix to be quiet, when he realized that the very reason they were trapped was because of their Web shields. Bob suggested they remove them to survive the trap, but everyone thought he had gone mad. Without the shields, the ship would degrade after all.
8. After learning that there would be no way to make a portal, Bob's keytool, Glitch, began to talk to Bob. It told Bob how they could solve the problem of it being broken and unable to make a portal. What was the solution that Glitch presented to Bob?

Answer: The solution was that Bob and Glitch fuse and become one, thereby making any mechanical defects void.

Glitch talked to Bob and presented the perfect solution to their problems. With Glitch downloaded into Bob, none of the damage taken in the Web War, at the end of season 2 would present itself. With Glitch inside, Bob would have access to all of Glitch's power abilities, but lose Glitches mechanical abilities. Under the circumstances, there was no time to consider other possibilities.
9. With the ability to make portals within grasp, how did the crew survive with their Web-shields down?

Answer: Glitch provided a safety shield around the ship.

Glitch-Bob used his new powers to instantly destroy the Web-shields surrounding the ship. The crew did not have to be scared, because Bob used his new abilities to shield them and drag them all towards the portal, fully protected from the ravages of the Web. Bob used his portal making ability and opened the portal to Mainframe.
10. Prior to ending the episode, Bob recited a very familiar quotation, heard in every episode in season one and two. "I come from the Net. I search through systems, peoples and cities for this place: Mainframe __ _____. My format: Guardian, to mend and defend." What were the two missing words from Bob's quotation?

Answer: My home

The original quotation from the episode openers in seasons one and two went as follows: "I come from the Net. I search through systems, peoples and cities for this place: Mainframe. My format, Guardian, to mend and defend. To defend my new-found friends, their hopes and dreams, to defend them from their enemies.

They say the user lives outside the Net and inputs games for pleasure. No-one knows for sure, but I intend to find out. Reboot!". With the different contexts presented in season three, the quotation had to be changed a little bit to take time into account. Regardless, Matrix's adventure had finally taken him back home to Mainframe.

The problem is that it might not be the Mainframe everyone remembers.
