Road Blocks of "The Amazing Race 4" Quiz

Answer: Italy

Teams arrived at the Palazzo de Matzo in Venice, Italy to find a Road Block awaiting them at 5:00pm. For this Road Block, teams needed to choose one member to grab a photograph and use it to compare with masks inside a nearby building. Once they determined which mask on one of the many people inside matched the picture, they would receive their next clue directing them to the second Pit Stop, the Citta de Padora docked in Venice's main lagoon. If any team member was unable to correctly guess the proper mask, their photo would be taken and they would need to move to the back of the line to try again. Only four people could be inside the party at once. Team members involved in this challenge included Chip, Jeff, Tian, Russell, Monica, Josh, Jon, Chris, Millie, and Al.

Answer: Bungee Jumping

In Leg 3, teams made their way to the Donauturm in Vienna, Austria where one team member needed to be chosen to take a number and perform a bungee jump from the top of Austria's tallest building. Once the selected teammate had reached the ground, they would receive their next clue. Jaree, Sheree, Reichen, Millie, Jon, Jon, Russell, Jeff, and Steve all participated in this Road Block task.

After the Road Block here, teams were told to get onto a train and travel to the town of Gmunden to find the Pit Stop, the Schloss Ort, a castle on the sea.

Answer: Change four tires

In Leg 4, teams flew from Austria to France and made their way to the city of Le Mans, France for a Road Block task. In this Road Block, the selected member needed to suit up and change four tires on a race car before hopping in with a professional driver and taking a full lap around the track.

At the end, the team could receive a clue from a trophy on the winner's podium. Monica, Tian, Chip, Chuck, Jon, Jeff, Josh, Kelly, and Dave all took the ride in this one and were told to make their way across France to Marseille, over five hundred miles away.

Answer: Twenty-five

In Leg 5, teams reached the Smoker Statue at the water's edge in the town of Monnickendam, The Netherlands to collect the Road Block clue. In this Road Block, team members needed to hop aboard a boat and, using their bare hands, grab twenty-five slippery live eels and toss them into a box on the side of the ship. Once this was done, teams could collect the clue directing them to the fifth Pit Stop, the Kastel Muiderslot in Muiden. Al, Jon, Reichen, Sheree, David, Jaree, and Steve all decided to grab for the eels in this leg of the race.

Answer: Tian

In Alleppey, India, teams found the Road Block task in a muddy field just outside the town. Here, teams needed to choose one member to go across the field, hold onto a beam of wood, and get dragged through the mud to the opposite side. If that team member could hold on for the entire ride, they would receive their next clue at the end. Tian was notable for being the first-ever female participant of this activity. David, Al, Jon, Chuck, and Reichen all took part in this task as well.

After the Road Block, teams headed into the town of Alleppey to find their next clue at Beach Road.

Answer: Hand-tossed dart

In Koto Kinibalu, Malaysia, teams made their way by boat to a dock on Manukan Island to find the Road Block task, during which one member of each team needed to participate in a series of target-shooting activities. First, team members needed to shoot an arrow (using a bow) into a wooden target. Second, a blowgun dart needed to be shot down the beach into suspended fruits. Finally, a spear needed to be tossed into a wooden plank target before both team members could run down the beach to the next Pit Stop on the waterfront. Jon, Chip, Chuck, Jeff, and Kelly all finished this Road Block.

Answer: Chip

For the Road Block, teams needed to head to 'Rafting Korea' on the Hantan River in the Sundam Valley. Here, one at a time, team members needed to strip down and dive under the ice of the river, swimming to an exit hole underwater. Chip, Jon, Al, and Jeff all completed this freezing cold task and were required to warm up enough before they could move on with the race.

After the Road Block, teams made their way back to Seoul to find a clue in a specific subway station at the University of Seoul.

Answer: David and Jeff

In Leg 11, teams drove to Underwater World in Mooloolaba, Australia where one member of each team needed to don scuba hear and walk along the bottom of the aquarium in which over one hundred sharks and numerous other sea creatures were contained. Once team members collected their clue from within a small treasure chest, they would be able to head to the eleventh Pit Stop, the Mooloolaba Yacht Club (on foot). Jon, Reichen, and Al completed the task but neither David nor Jeff finished it as they had claimed the final Fast Forward of the race and were allowed to skip all tasks and go directly to the Pit Stop.

Answer: Three

With only three teams left in the race, players made their way to 'Off Road Rush' outside Julatten, Australia where one member of each team needed to suit up and hop into an off-road all-terrain buggy and complete a seven mile course. Once at the finish line, teams would be able to collect the clue directing them to Ellis Beach, the race's final Pit Stop. David, Chip, and Jon all completed this task though Jon's trip down the track was the most notable.

Answer: Hawaii

In Leg 13, teams crossed the Pacific to reach Hawaii where their Road Block task was at Kaulana Bay, the country's southernmost point. Here, team members needed to dive into the ocean and reach a set of marked tiki buoys. Here, they would need to drag a marked rock from the bottom back to shore and break it open using tools provided.

Inside would be the next clue. Once team members claimed this, they headed to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and then onward to the final destination of the race, Phoenix, Arizona. Only Jon and Chip complete the task as David and Jeff were unable to reach the clue before the race had been won.
