Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 2, the Road Block asked team members to enter an enclosure containing which of these?

Answer: Snakes

In Leg 2, teams encountered their first Road Block of the race at the Ragunan Zoo, specifically the snake pit. Once there, one member of each team needed to enter the enclosure and spend time looking for their clue in a box; they had only two minutes to complete the task or else they would incur a time penalty. Ernie, Marsio, Sahil, Zabrina, Sharan, Francesca, Laura, Andrew, and Jacqueline came face-to-face with a reticulated python before heading onward to the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah.
2. In Leg 3, five teams opted not to complete the Road Block in Bali. This task involved finding which of these buried in the sand?

Answer: Wooden surfboard

Flying from Jakarta to Denpasar in Leg 3, teams raced to a seaside clue at Kuta Beach. Here, they were required to choose one team member to dig in a sand plot to find a small, wooden surfboard; this surfboard would be no deeper than forty centimeters into the sand. Unsurprisingly, this task proved difficult for several teams and only four made it to the end.

The other five took a four hour penalty upon arriving at the Pit Stop because they opted out of the challenge. While Sharon, Prashant, Howard, and Sandy all finished the task, Syeon, Aubrey, Mady, Andy, and Joe Jer all decided to take the four hour penalty.
3. In Leg 4, teams completed a Road Block at OceanWorld in what country?

Answer: Australia

Heading to Sydney, Australia in Leg 4, teams proceeded through much of the city on foot experiencing its many attractions. For the Road Block, teams arrived at OceanWorld in Manly where one member of each had to don a scuba suit and immerse themselves in a tank containing sharks, manta rays, and other dangerous sea creatures to find a clue at the bottom. Sandy, Marsio, Melody, Joe Jer, Syeon, Andy, and Sahil completed this task before heading to the next Pit Stop at the Circular Quay. Howard, of Howard and Sahran, could not finish the task due to claustrophobia.

They took a four hour penalty, but it was a non-elimination leg.
4. In Legs 5 and 6 in New Zealand, both Road Block tasks involved jumps of some sort.

Answer: True

In Leg 5, in Auckland, the Road Block involved an adrenaline-fueled plunge off the Sky Tower while the non-participating partner watched from below, snapping a photo of the task with a Sony camera. Andy, Andrew, Zabrina, Howard, Prashant, Francesca, Marsio, and Sharon, completed this task. In Leg 6, teams went to the famous Nevis Highwire Platform near Queenstown, New Zealand.

This site, one of the highest bungees in the world, was the location of the next Road Block. One member of each team, again, needed to make a jump off the platform to get the next clue. If they did not complete the task in two minutes, they would need to let any teams behind them go before them. Sandy, Laura, Joe Jer, Andrew, Marsio, Howard, and Melody completed this.
5. Who completed the Road Block in Bangkok, Thailand involving bells in Leg 7?

Answer: Joe Jer

Heading to Singapore and then Thailand in Leg 7, teams visited the capital city of Bangkok to complete a series of tasks. Upon arriving at the Golden Mount, a Buddhist temple in the city, they found a Road Block requiring that one member of each team ascend to the roof of the structure and search through over six hundred small, silver bells for ones containing silver vials containing small slips of paper. Only six of these slips would be correct, one per team. To get to the Golden Mount, teams needed to determine the landmark with only a two Baht coin as their clue. Joe Jer, Francesca, Syeon, Marsio, Andy, and Sahran all completed this task.
6. Visiting Krabi, Thailand in the eighth leg of the race, what did team members need to do for the Road Block task?

Answer: Climb

Traveling through the islands off the coast of Krabi in Thailand in Leg 8 via long-tail boats, teams inevitably made their way to the picturesque Railay Beach where they needed to select one member of each team to complete the Road Block. This task required the chosen participant to climb up Railay East 123 Wall to retrieve their next clue at the top. Participants included Sandy, Zabrina, Andy, Sahran, Andrew, and.

After this, teams proceeded through the water to Koh Hong Lagoon and then to the Pit Stop on the paradisaical island of Koh Pak Bia.
7. In Leg 9, team members completed a Road Block task involving what alternative fuel source in Delhi, India?

Answer: Dung

Although teams completed a Road Block involving shoe-shining in Kolkata in Leg 9, this two-part leg inevitably took teams to the city of Delhi. Towards the end of this difficult, exhausting leg, team members were selected at the Tibetan Monastery Market to create a wall of dung cakes, literally taking cow dung, packing them together with water, and sticking them firmly onto a stone wall to dry in the sun.

When team members filled their wall with this alternative fuel source they could head to the Pit Stop at Jain Mandir Dada Bari. Sandy, Laura, Mardy, Andrew, and Joe Jer completed this task.
8. In Dubai in Leg 10, how many holes of golf did team members need to complete?

Answer: Nine

Reaching an Abra Station in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, teams passed by the Yield to collect a Road Block clue looking for one member to complete the back nine holes of the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club using only a putter and one other club. The task was finished by Zabrina, Francesca, Marsio, and Syeon.

When all nine holes were completed, the teams could receive their next clue sending them to the Dubai International Marine Club to find a boat known as the Leopard of Dubai.
9. During a Road Block task in Dubai in Leg 11, team members needed to eat what odd, animal-based delicacy?

Answer: Brains

Heading to the Road Block after a task at the Eye of the Emirates outside of Dubai, teams needed to drive to the Raghdan Restaurant in the city. Here, one member of each team needed to sit down for a meal consisting of local breads and brains. Once they were able to get the entire dish down, they would receive their next clue and continue to a specific house in the city. Syeon, Joe Jer, Sandy, and Marsio completed this task.
10. Teams completed the final Road Block of the race (in Leg 12) in what country?

Answer: Malaysia

After completing their stay in the United Arab Emirates, teams proceeded to Kuala Lampur, Malaysia and then Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia for the final sprint to the finish line. In Kuching's rainforests, teams located a Road Block towards the very end of the leg at the Permai Rainforest Resort.

The task required that the participating team member complete a rope obstacle course high up in the tree canopies. Sandy, Zabrina, and Andrew completed this task before boarding a boat and heading to the finish line at Bako National Park.
