Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the opening episode 'Small Victories', SG-1 is no sooner reunited when the Asgard arrive needing help. How does Sam Carter help them?

Answer: She blows up their most technologically advanced spaceship the O'Neill

Blowing up the O'Neill when it is in hyperspace also destroys the replicator ships that are threatening the Asgard homeworld. The O'Neill wasn't yet completed and was constructed using their newest alloy of naquadah, trinium and carbon.
On Earth, Teal'c and Jack O'Neill battle replicators on board a Russian submarine.
2. The Tok'ra arrive asking for assistance in 'Upgrades', what do they want SG-1 to do?

Answer: Test alien armbands

The armbands came from the Atanik race, working by means of a virus, giving the wearer of the armband super-human abilities. Whilst wearing them, SG-1 blows up a prototype battleship being built for Apophis.
3. Mind control has been used on some members of the SGC in 'Divide and Conquer'. How do Jack and Sam convince the Tok'ra that they are not zatarcs?

Answer: They pass the zatarc test when they admit their feelings for one another

SG-1 were questioned on the events that occurred in 'Upgrades'. Jack and Sam failed the initial zatarc test because they failed to mention their emotional feelings for one another when they were separated by a forcefield with the timer ticking down on an explosive device. Jack is seen to admit that he cares for his second in command "a lot more than I'm supposed to". And the shippers delight.
4. On P3X-888, Daniel Jackson is taken prisoner by one of 'The First Ones'. What is the name of the race of beings that were the first hosts to Goa'uld symbiotes?

Answer: Unas

Daniel becomes friends with his captor and we meet Chaka again in later seasons.
The Unas race was previously seen in the season one episode 'Thor's Hammer', when O'Neill and Teal'c need to escape a maze inhabited by a Unas.
5. In 'Scorched Earth' two races, the Enkarans and the Gadmeer, both want to occupy a particular planet. How is this dilemma solved?

Answer: The terraforming ship located the original ancestral world of the Enkarans and relocated them

P5S-381 was an ideal location for the Enkarans, and they had been re-located there by SG-1. When the Gadmeer ship arrived and started terra-forming the planet it was obvious they wouldn't both be able to stay and occupy together. O'Neill ordered Carter to make a naquadah bomb to blow up the Gadmeer ship but it is thwarted. SG-1 did not know of another planet suitable for the Enkaran physiology. Luckily, the Gadmeer ship located the original homeworld of the Enkarans and they were transported there before terraforming continued.
6. It seems that even memory stamps are not enough to permanently change our SG-1 heroes. What does O'Neill remember on P3R-118?

Answer: Feeling feelings and a bald man who wears a short sleeved shirt

The inhabitants of P3R-118 rely on memory stamps to keep a slave labour force to provide power for the domed city on the surface. In 'Beneath the Surface' O'Neill and Carter are memory stamped as Jona and Therra, but even this doesn't dim their attraction for one another and Jona/O'Neill remembers "feeling feelings" for Therra/Carter and he remembers "a bald man who wears a short sleeved shirt", he thinks his name is Homer, but later realises he was actually thinking of General Hammond and not his cartoon hero, Homer Simpson. Carlin/Daniel remembers "a glowing puddle" and Therra/Carter a "lot of numbers and letters" and Teal'c/Tor remembers that they're "part of a team called SG-1".
7. Daniel 'loses' someone again to the Goa'uld, this time his ex-girlfriend Sarah Gardner. Which Goa'uld takes her as a host?

Answer: Osiris

In the episode 'The Curse' we find out about some of Daniel's life prior to the Stargate.
Matching canopic jars are discovered: one containing the dead symbiote of Isis; the other containing Osiris goes missing and murders quickly follow.
Amaunet was the Goa'uld that took Daniel's wife as a host and we meet Anubis in later seasons.
8. In 'Chain Reaction' General Hammond is forced to retire by which organisation?

Answer: The NID

The shadowy organisation NID (the acronym has never been explained) seems to have a sort of oversight capacity of the SGC. By exposing the unethical links within the NID O'Neill, aided by Maybourne, manages to get Hammond reinstated.
9. In '2010' we see a possible future Earth. There is no more Goa'uld and diseases are also no more, but in this 'perfect' world who is Samantha Carter married to?

Answer: Ambassador Joseph Faxon

The Aschen alliance in 2000 was the start of the end of the human race on Earth in this alternate reality. Carter discovers the long-term Aschen plan to de-populate Earth and realises they have to send a warning into the past to prevent this future from happening.
10. In 'Absolute Power' SG-1 find Shifu. What is special about Shifu?

Answer: He is Harsesis

Shifu is the Harsesis child of Apophis and Amaunet. He is the son of Daniel's wife, Sha're and we saw him born in the season two episode 'Secrets', so he is really only 2 years old. He has been raised by the Ancient Oma Desala.
