Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 11, teams left Prince Edward Island, heading to what nearby province?

Answer: New Brunswick

The final four ended up starting the penultimate leg of the race not at the Farmer's Bank in Rustico, Prince Edward Island, but at Peaks Ward. From there, they needed to drive themselves from the island province into New Brunswick, on the mainland, by taking a ride along Confederation Bridge.

Heading out, teams needed to drive Chevrolet Trax, and moments after starting the drive, frontrunners Sukhi and Jinder incurred a fifteen minute penalty for running a red light (which they incurred immediately).
2. In Leg 11, teams needed to serve birthday treats from what well-known fast-food chain?

Answer: Dairy Queen

Arriving in Shediac, New Brunswick, teams had to locate a local Dairy Queen restaurant, dress in uniforms, and take the orders of families celebrating Acadian birthday parties outside. Once they made the proper Blizzards and ice cream cakes for the patrons waiting, they would be given their next clue.

This told teams to drive themselves to the Albert County Museum in Hopewell Cape where their next clue would be in one of the open buildings-- specifically the courthouse.
3. In Leg 11, all four remaining teams chose what nautical-themed Detour option?

Answer: 'By Sea'

Finding their clue in the museum courthouse, teams were given a Detour task, a choice between 'By Land' and 'By Sea'. In 'By Land', teams needed to drive to drive to a nearby forest and, using a GPS locator, find ten different geocaches, returning with a souvenir from each to get their next clue.

In 'By Sea', teams instead headed to the Hopewell Rocks where, using a box of nautical flags, seven phrases, and a codebook down the beach, properly spell out the phrases in maritime signals. When they had them in the right order they could continue. All four teams chose 'By Sea'.
4. Which team member did not complete the rappelling/climbing Road Block task in Leg 11?

Answer: Rob

Following the Detour, teams needed to drive themselves to the cliffs overlooking Cape Enrage, New Brunswick on the edge of the Bay of Fundy. There, teams found a late-leg Road Block requiring that one member of each team participate. In this case, the four racers joining up were specified in the clue to even out the amount of Road Blocks completed going into the final leg. Natalie, Mickey, Ryan, and Sukhi were told to rappel down the side of the cliffs to get half of their clue then, after racing along the rocks below, climb up another cliff face nearby to get the other half and return to their partner.
5. Which team was eliminated in Leg 11?

Answer: Sukhi and Jinder

After completing the Road Block, teams were told to climb to the top of a nearby tower where one team member would need to properly harness the other and both would complete a zipline to the next Pit Stop-- the lighthouse at Cape Enrage. Here, Natalie and Meaghan reclaimed their first place position (their seventh of the race), winning a trip for two to any American destination courtesy of Air Canada (and $5,000 spending money).

In the end, Sukhi and Jinder made too many missteps in this penultimate leg, sending them to fourth place and edging them out of the final three.
6. The final leg of the race brought the remaining three teams to what final destination city?

Answer: Ottawa

During the final leg of the race, the last three teams participating departed from the final Pit Stop-- Cape Enrage, New Brunswick, where they were told that they needed to make their way to the nearest airport and take a flight to the nation's capital, Ottawa. Upon their arrival, all three teams raced through the airport to the Maple Leaf Lounge to get their next clue. Taxiing into the city proper, they needed to find 1 Fleet Street, home of the Fleet Street Pumping Station.

There, both team members needed to take a two-man kayak to the Rideau Canal and paddle through a rapids course and across the river to the other side.

They could find their next clue box by running, on foot, to the Centennial Flame in front of Canada's Parliament buildings.
7. In the final leg of the race, team members completing the first Road Block had to find small items scattered around what type of famous landmark?

Answer: An underground bunker

Reaching the Centennial Flame, teams were told to head into the Parliament Building and find the office of the Speaker of the House, the Honourable Andrew Scheer. There, they had to take an envelope to receive a date then, searching the books lining the walls, determine the debate held on that date (these ranged from the inception of "O Canada!" to the introduction of the Loonie).

When they got this correct and told the librarian in the Librarian of Parliament, they would be directed to the Diefenbunker to get their first Road Block for this leg.

In this task, Natalie, Pete, and Rob had to search the labyrinthine underground bunker for three of five different small items (eg. toy tank, a compass, etc.). When they got all three, they would collect another Road Block task.
8. The final Road Block of the race involved which of the following highly-physical tasks?

Answer: Ascending

After finding the items in the Diefenbunker, teams were told to drive back into Ottawa proper to locate the Canadian Museum of Nature. Upon their arrival, the selected team member (who was forced to do the task if their partner did the first one; Meaghan, Mickey, and Ryan) needed to harness themselves into a mechanical ascender line and pull themselves up to the ceiling of the building's main atrium, collecting their clue along the way before pulling themselves to a nearby balcony. Following this, teams needed to direct their taxis across the city to the National Gallery of Canada.
9. For their final task, teams were required to recall events from during the race by matching them and arranging them in what form?

Answer: A series of paintings

Heading to the National Gallery of Canada, teams found their penultimate clue waiting for them in the Baroque Room. Here, teams were required to install an art installation inspired by the twelve legs of their journey. Each leg of the race would have three paintings attributed to it (though more than thirty-six would be given).

They then had to hang the pictures not only in order by leg, but in order by sequence within each given leg. When they had all of them in the correct positions and order, they would get their final clue and race to the Finish Line.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race Canada 2"?

Answer: Mickey and Pete

When teams completed their memory challenge they were told to race by taxi and then on foot to the Finish Line to vie for the big prize. Their destination: Rideau Hall, the home of the Canadian Governor General. Here, Mickey and Pete raced through the property to the back courtyard to step across the Finish Line in first place, winning their first leg and, arguably, the only one that mattered.

In the end they won the $250,000 prize, two 2014 Chevrolet Silverados, a lifetime supply of gas from Petro-Canada, and a year of free flights in business class courtesy of Air Canada.

They were followed by Natalie and Meaghan in second and Ryan and Rob in third place.
