The Desperate Details of Lynette Scavo Quiz

Lynette's maiden name has only been mentioned once, in the flashback that detailed when she had first met Tom. This flashback was shown after Lynette had arrived at Tom's office, only to discover that his former girlfriend had been working with him for three months without her knowledge. Annabelle, his ex, was dating him when Lynette "stole him" away from her, and Lynette thought she was trying to settle the score.

While they could go after her credit card some day, up through the fifth season, the Scavo boys have only knowingly taken her purple wall clock (a treasured keepsake painted by her deceased son), her flower pot (a souvenir from her cruise to Costa Rica), and her car, which Lynette mentioned that Porter and Preston had hot-wired during their rebellious teenage years.

Answer: found out Norma and Leonard were obsessed with making 'adult videos' together

Tom and Lynette originally discovered their interest in homemade adult videos when Jimmy and PJ mistakenly brought one of their videos over to watch while staying at the Scavo house. When they went to return it, Norma became erratic and fled the scene in a panic. Out of concern over losing her precious 'alone time,' Lynette sought to mend the rift between the two families and let them know it was fine, just as long as they kept the videos private.

However, when they spoke with Leonard and Norma, they discovered that they had made dozens of movies, had a 'special room' to produce them in, and that they were open to filming Tom and Lynette, if they were ever interested.

This realization effectively ended their kids' play dates together forever.

Answer: bribed the opposing pitcher to throw him an easy pitch

After the crowd started to turn on Parker's continuous strike outs, Lynette found the opposing team's pitcher at the concession stand during a break and bribed him with $50. She expected Parker to be given the easiest of all easy pitches, even though this pitcher was very talented for his age and his easy pitches raised immediate suspicion. While Parker did hit the ball, that ball then hit the pitcher and knocked him out; his coach and mother discovered the money when they tried to revive him and Lynette's deception was quickly discovered.

Answer: French maid

Lynette felt threatened by Annabelle, Tom's new co-worker and ex-girlfriend. Since Tom had been working late and she questioned whether he was still attracted to her, she decided to spice things up and dress up as a French maid. Unfortunately the wine she drank put her asleep and they found her passed out, face down, on the couch with her legs practically up in the air.

Answer: had a coworker stage a fake kidnapping in front of their house

When her receptionist, Stu, tried to get her kids into his car, Tom was surprised by the lengths Lynette was willing to go to prove a point. While the boys didn't originally react to Stu's offer to take them to the carnival, they ran into his car as soon as he offered them candy bars.

While Tom was disappointed that his sons were "clearly idiots," they weren't the only people watching this incident unfold. Mrs. McCluskey saw Stu try to get the kids into his car and after he did she knocked on his car window and tasered him in the neck several times.

Before Lynette arrived home, her daughter, Penny, had spit up on her side of the bed and Tom decided to lay a towel over the mess rather than change the sheets. After the two of them physically threw down over whether the sheets were staying on or coming off of the bed, Lynette decided to sleep on the couch in the messy living room.

She watched a horror movie about rat infestation and decided to bring one home from the pet store the next day. While the rat did manage to scare Tom into submission and derail the stress on their marriage, Lynette was sad to learn that Tom had killed the rat rather than trap it and set it free.

Answer: ordered infant high chairs instead of adult chairs

Tom was very upset at first, but after he saw everyone enjoying the food and atmosphere, he realized that the opening was, in fact, perfect.

Answer: he was a pedophile

Lynette saw that his basement was filled with tons of toys, games, and other items that kids love. She also found a small wall covered in photos of adolescent boys in swimsuits; while Art was a swimming coach, she felt immediately unnerved at these photographs and didn't know what to do.

She eventually told Mrs. McCluskey of her suspicions, which resulted in a neighborhood lynch mob attempting to drive them out of town. After his sister died, Art disclosed to Lynette that he intended on acting on his deviant impulses rather than ignoring them, as he had done when his sister was alive due to fear of discovery.

He left town that day, but not before Lynette was given this very dark and cryptic message from her former savior.

Answer: baseball field where she used to play in the All-American Girls Baseball League

Karen and Lynette broke into the baseball field to scatter the ashes and were almost immediately noticed by security. As the officers approached them to escort them off of the property, Lynette and Karen ran in separate directions while Lynette held the bag in the air and scattered the ashes wherever she went. After she was easily apprehended, Karen yelled to Lynette: "Run Jane Doe Run!"

Answer: flashed him her bare chest

This was not the way that Lynette thought she would get his signature, but while she made her pitch about the pizzeria and the need for a liquor license, she realized that this man was formerly of Las Vegas, liked showgirls, and couldn't keep his eyes off of her chest.

She offered to flash him in return for his signature, and he happily agreed and said that, "It was totally worth it." On her way out the door, Lynette replied, "Glad you thought so."

Answer: had an affair

Tom has said time and time again that he would never cheat on his wife, not only because he knew of the consequences of betraying her, but also because their love and their marriage remains incredibly strong. They were tested by Tom's midlife crisis and while she was able to put up with many of his new ideas and activities, she also knew that there would be a time when he would need to snap out of it and be more practical.

This moment came after she confronted him about his 'RV family road trip' idea and how impractical he had become regarding his life, their future, and their children's futures.

Answer: Ann Schilling

Lynette faced many obstacles when she tried to keep her family together, out of debt, and out of jail. Porter and Ann's affair rocked the Scavo family to the core; they had even intended on running away but were foiled when Lynette physically confronted Ann over the affair. Ann concocted a plan and told Porter she was pregnant. Eventually Ann left her husband, after he discovered the truth and viciously beat her, and she later disclosed to Lynette that she had never been pregnant, it had only been a trick to get Porter to leave with her.

Answer: lymphoma

Lynette was very resentful and angry after Tom confronted Rick, an act that lead to Rick's departure. During a physical fight between Tom and Lynette about this issue, she was injured and taken to the hospital where they discovered irregularities in her lymph nodes. As of the start of the sixth season Lynette's cancer has remained in remission, and she has even become pregnant...again.

Answer: she and her sister's names all start with different letters of the alphabet, like her kids

Lynette's sisters are named Lydia and Lucy, which explains the theme of Lynette's biological children all bearing names that start with the letter 'P' (i.e., Parker, Penny, Porter, Preston). All of the other facts about Lynette are true, and I must add that they are some of my favorite Lynette moments.
