During the opening moments of this episode, viewers see Rose sneaking into the kitchen in the dark, only to be frightened by Dorothy moments later, who also enters the room and turns on the light. Though it is the middle of the night, both women believe they have heard strange noises, which Dorothy eventually attributes to the fact that they all watched Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" before going to bed. Just as these two settle down, Blanche enters armed with a golf club, thus emphasising the women's collective jumpiness all the more.

While Dorothy, Blanche and Rose are sitting at the kitchen table, Blanche exclaims that "Psycho's" shower scene upsets her. She then adds, "It's the reason that I prefer not to sleep alone", which prompts a disbelieving Dorothy to utter the words mentioned in the question. An antsy Rose then points out, "Well at least we're not alone tonight".

While enjoying some double fudge chocolate cheesecake, Blanche reveals that she once had roommates before Dorothy, Rose and Sophia. This then leads to her remembering the day she threw these two women out, which was also the day she first met Rose. Indeed Blanche and Rose first meet at the supermarket, where Blanche is advertising for new roommates.

She and Rose meet in front of the notice board, and have a short conversation, during which Blanche urges Rose to sleep with the best friend of the man she mistakenly thinks has dumped her.

This then prompts Rose to exclaim, "Am I on 'Candid Camera'?"

Answer: She sometimes forgets to shower

These three hilarious examples of "wildness" are all given by Rose during her first ever meeting with Blanche. However despite initially inviting Rose to be her new roommate (after mistaking Rose's comments for true humour), Blanche quickly retracts her offer, stating "I think I'd better keep looking". Nevertheless, Rose does then persuade Blanche to give her a chance, and thus gives viewers an intriguing glimpse into how the pair first met.

In another of this episode's flashbacks, viewers are shown the moment that Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia first meet. Accompanied by her mother, Dorothy shows up to view Blanche's house, after speaking to her on the phone, and briefly meets another interested party, in the form of the kooky Madame Zelda.

Indeed just as Dorothy steps over the threshold, she is told by the nutty psychic, "Move in this house and you'll die an agonising death".

This memorable quip of Dorothy's comes midway through this episode, and relates to her attempts to impress Blanche, so that she secures one of the rooms that is being rented out by her. Initially, this flashback shows a mortified Dorothy's plans continually being sabotaged by Sophia, who makes several derogatory comments, not only insulting Blanche's house, but also Blanche herself. Nevertheless, in the present day, Dorothy reveals that upon meeting Rose, she realised that she had made a far better first impression than her dim-witted roommate.

This comical quote comes courtesy of Rose, via a flashback of the moment she and Dorothy first meet. Understandably, the ever cynical Dorothy initially finds her annoying, due to Rose's sunny disposition and ridiculous comments. Moreover after losing a coin toss regarding bedroom allocation, Dorothy is further antagonised by Rose's promise to sing "Kumbaya" to her whenever she cannot sleep at night.

As is made perfectly clear by one particular flashback, not only do they bicker over what to put in their trolley (as they decide to share the cost equally), but they also insult each other constantly. One of the most memorable insults is said by Rose, and is aimed at Blanche. Rose begins by saying that unlike Blanche she cannot help being an honest person.

When Blanche then responds with "What are you talking about?" Rose remarks, "Well you bought panty hose in petite. Everybody can see you couldn't get those past your knees."

Answer: Dorothy

In yet another flashback, Dorothy says these words to Rose upon returning from the supermarket. At this stage, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose really do not seem to be getting along, and Rose in particular becomes the target of Dorothy's wrath. This particular quote comes after an argument about where to store cereal, with Dorothy wanting it to go in the refrigerator, while Blanche opts for the cupboard and Rose tries to get it stored in a glass canister on the kitchen counter.

Answer: Cheesecake

After agreeing to make an effort to get along, in the final flashback of this episode, Rose, Dorothy and Blanche discover that they share a love of cheesecake. While unpacking her shopping, Rose begins to carry her dessert to the refrigerator, but is stopped by Blanche, who demands "What's that?" Rose then proceeds to admit that it is cheesecake, as she has a particularly sweet tooth.

The fact that Rose has cheesecake then prompts Dorothy to announce, "Oh, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship."
