In the beginning of the episode, George is at a car dealership ready to buy a 1989 Volvo. He talks it over with the dealer who tells George that there's also a 1989 LeBaron for sale. George ends up buying the car when he learns its previous owner was Jon Voight. Meanwhile, Elaine and Jerry are gearing up for Tim Whatley's 'Day Before Thanksgiving' party.

Kramer tells Jerry that if the local shoe place doesn't get any business, they'll have to close to make way for a gourmet coffee or cookie place. Jerry ends up letting Kramer take a box of sneakers tot he store to get cleaned and detailed. At the store, Kramer gets a nosebleed and lies down on a couch.

When he looks at the ceiling, he notices wires everywhere and recommends an electrician.

Kramer's suggestion to call an electrician is ultimately what dooms the Mom & Pop Store because the building is unsafe. Kramer's nosebleeds also occur more than once in the episode. When Mom and Pop move away, they take all of Jerry's shoes with them.

While de-salting pretzels for Mr. Pitt, Elaine listens to some big bands on the radio and successfully names some because her father used to own a collection of big band records. When the radio announces that they'll give away one of the ropes to a listener who calls in with the correct name of a song, Mr. Pitt asks Elaine to win the prize for him. Mr. Pitt wants to hold the rope because his father forbade him from participating in large activities like the parade.

George is about to give Jerry a ride in Jon Voight's car, but when Jerry is about to go in, he realizes he has gum on the bottom of his shoe. George stops him from sitting down and Jerry decides to get a new pair of shoes. When they return to the apartment, Jerry notices that Kramer has take all of his shoes with him.

When Jerry yells at Kramer for taking all of his shoes to get fixed, Kramer goes into Jerry's closet and finds a pair of cowboy boots that Jerry got from a show in Dallas. Jerry finds them uncomfortable, and he frequently finds it difficult to walk in them.

Not only can this be found out by realizing that the Thanksgiving Day Parade is in November, but Jerry says the month because he finds it too cold to be riding in George's LeBaron with the roof off. When Jerry looks into the glove compartment, he finds a bitten pencil and the owner's manual.

When Jerry read the cover, he discovers that the car wasn't owned by Jon Voight. Instead, it was owned by John Voight, a completely different person. George ends up kicking Jerry out of the car.

After getting the "Next Stop Pottersville" song right and calling in, Elaine was able to secure Mr. Pitt's spot under the Woody Woodpecker float. When she picked up Mr. Pitt's pass at the deli, she ended up sitting right in front of a loud band and her hearing changed.
Meanwhile, in the middle of the street, Kramer gets another nosebleed and spots Jon Voight. When he follows Jon to a taxi, the actor bites Kramer's arm.

At the party, Jerry tries to look for a dentist who can look at his chipped tooth for him while Kramer and George ask around for a dentist to try and match the teeth marks on Kramer's arm with the teeth marks on John Voight's pencil. When Elaine arrives, she can't hear a thing.

Although she wanted to go out with Tim Whatley, he asked her at the party and she turned him down because she couldn't hear a word he was saying. When Jerry leaned over at a window, he accidentally knocked over Elaine's trophy and it fell onto Woody Woodpecker.

At the party, George and Kramer discover that Tim Whatley knew John Voight, but he went to dental school and became a periodontist.
In the end of the episode, Jerry and Kramer board a bus for New Jersey when they get a call from a man who bought Jerry's sneakers at a garage sale. On the bus, Kramer gets another nosebleed and Jerry still hasn't fixed his tooth.
