In the first episode of series 12, the Stig was listening to 'me like cheese' in Morse Code when driving the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.

2. Who was the "Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car" for the first episode of series 12?

Answer: Sir Michael Parkinson

This was Sir Michael's first guest appearance on 'Top Gear', and he set a lap time of 1 minute 49.4 seconds in the Chevrolet Lacetti.

When the piano was being lowered to the ground, one of the legs fell off. The leg had to be propped up using a stack of adult magazines. Thankfully from Jeremy and Richard's point of view, James destroyed the piano anyway.

Answer: Renault Avantime

The Renault Avantime was the car Jeremy, James and Richard had to improve so it could lap the Top Gear test track as fast as a Mitsubishi Evolution X, which managed a time of 1 minute 28.2 seconds. They failed, despite numerous mechanical improvements, with the car managing a final fast lap of 1 minute 35.4 seconds in the hands of the Stig.

At the end of the challenge, Richard arrived first in his Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion. Jeremy arrived very shortly after in his Jaguar, and James took so long that he missed the switching on of the Christmas lights.

He was second to Jay Kay, who set a lap of 1 minute 45.82 seconds around the track. McCloud's lap was only five hundredths of a second slower, at 1 minute 45.87 seconds (rounded up to 1 minute 45.9 seconds).

8. Episode 6 of series 12 saw a very unconventional road test of the new Ford Fiesta. It raced against a 'baddie' car in a shopping centre. What was the 'baddie' car?

The Fiesta manages to escape from the shopping centre, but the bigger Corvette crashes into a shop display and does not make it out.

The Caterham won the Car of the Year award because it beat the Bugatti Veyron's lap time, despite being much less expensive.

"Top Gear Stuntman" was attempting to beat the record set by "Fifth Gear". Unfortunately, he failed, landing just before the marker set by "Fifth Gear". That's "Top Gear" for you! Ambitious but rubbish!
