Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following African Cities does NOT appear in this game?

Answer: Casablanca

All the others are indicated as cities in the desert with Cairo and Tunis with several tourist attractions! The scope of Africa in the game is severely limited, and nothing from the southern part of the continent appears here. The creators of the game apparently feel Morocco is not so important in the game, or felt they had to make Africa more challenging to compete in?
2. If a plane is forced to make an emergency landing, it adversely affects your income for that particular route the incident occured on.

Answer: true

Revenue for that quarter takes a hit on that route, but the game quickly forgets it happpened. The plane incidents are basically a reflection either on your lack of funding for maintenance, or use of older aircraft.
3. Which of the following activies can your operatives NOT perform?

Answer: Airplane Maintenance

You have operatives working for you. They can indeed purchase hotels in cities where one is available for sale, they can conduct advertising campaigns, and they can negotiate with a city's airport for space for your aircraft when it arrives. They can not however be assigned to aircraft maintenance, as that is under a separate department.
4. The term used for the space your plane will use when it is at any airport is called a ___________.

Answer: slot

Your operatives negotiate for slots in each city. Negotiations can take as long as 15 months, depending on competition, your home base's country's relationship with that country of that city, and your airline's reputation.
5. How many slots can a city that is not your main hub in the region offer you for use?

Answer: Fourteen

You can have up to fourteen slots in a city that is not your hub in any region, provided there are enough slots available for use. You are limited to the maximum number of slots in your hubs, minus a fair amount to allow your competitors to use that airport as well.
6. The Airbus A340 has a longer operational range than a Boeing 747-400.

Answer: True

The 747-400 has a range of 8000 miles, while the A340 can travel 8870 miles. These figures are closely related to actual statistics.
7. Which city of these Asian cities listed can be used as a hub?

Answer: Manila

Whlie Manila is not one of Asia's largest or wealthiest cities, it has been categorized for use as a hub in this region. The other cities are larger, but have not been designated as hub cities, except for Jakarta, which does not appear in the game.
8. There are not any aircrafts in the game that can reach Tehran, Iran from San Francisco, California.

Answer: true

Actually, this is a bogus question, because San Francisco is not a hub city, and planes may only travel hub to hub between regions (San Francisco is in North America and Tehran is in the Middle East). Hence, no airplanes are able to make this trip.
9. Which Middle East Region city is NOT a hub city?

Answer: Tashkent

Baghdad, Iraq and Tehran, Iran in the western part of this region often go to war with each other throughout game play, however serve as regional hubs. Delhi, the capitol of India also serves as a hub for the eastern part of the region. Tashkent apparently is too small and out of the way for use as a hub.
10. How many Supersonic aircrafts are available for purchase during the third time period in the game?

Answer: none

The Concorde and the Tupelov Tu-144 become available for only a few years during the second time period, as in actuality they were only produced for a few years. After the two are no longer offered, it is nearly three decades before other supersonic aircrafts are available for purchase, and of course all those are fictional planes because they are introduced around the year 2010.
11. What flag does Hong Kong fly after 1999?

Answer: Chinese

As in reality, Hong Kong administration is transferred to China in 1999 as per a treaty with Great Britain. It flew the Union Jack up until the 1999 changeover.
12. Which Pacific Rim city is not in the Oceania region?

Answer: Cebu

Brisbane is on Coastal Australia, Auckland is in neighboring New Zealand, and Noumea, New Caledonia is to the North-East of Australia. Cebu is a resort town in the Philippines, which is in the Asian region.
13. How many Japanese cites appear in this game?

Answer: Four

Tokyo appears as a hub city. Non-hub cities are Osaka, Sapporo, and Fukuoka. It is no surprise that Japan has a large representation in "Aerobiz Supersonic", for that is where this game was created.
14. When you call a business meeting, which of the following do NOT appear in the room?

Answer: Picture of an airplane

Your main operatives sit at a table, and your close advisor is able to conduct the meeting at your request. The meeting is conducted with a map of the world behind them. However there is no picture of a plane, although there is a statue or trophy of sorts depicting an airplane.
15. Guam and Saipan appear in the Asian region, however they fly the flag of a country from the North American Region. Which one?

Answer: United States

Greenland and the Bahamas are not mentioned in this game. Guam and Saipan, Marshall Islands are in this game, as in actuality, United States' possessions.
